They'd have to have a good Kevlar content in the bottom to get good wear.
Wouldn't want to climb in them though.

Careful what you run on and your style, barefoot can feel better/faster, but on pavement it's a good way to fuck up you feet.

Which is why you get running shoes! Got the bouncy bit under the ball of your feet to cushion against the pavement, and get the right pronation style and you'll likely be doing a lot better than going without.

Where do you buy them from?

Where do you buy them from?We were going to get them from Ebay for $100-$150.

But having sized them up at Trek n Travel in Hamilton we decided to buy them from there. Mainly because their service was so good. Partly because you can never be sure you are getting the real things from Ebay.

Here is a list of all stores in NZ that sell them http://www.fivefingers.co.nz/Map.html

They also sell the five fingers without the fingers (so normal looking shoe) under the name Merrell Barefoot (http://www.trekntravel.co.nz/footwear)

I've seen a chap wearing a pair of these riding a DR650 twice now in town.
Don't know why he just doesn't by a cheese grater and run his feet of that or
crush his feet between two rocks.

Yes I know its not illegal - but its bloody stupid. Rant over....
