Is there going to be a rally this time? Not that it matters to us as we'll be in Te Puke at this time.

No rally, but BBQ facilities and shelter will be provided.

John Blaymires and Charley Bilby will be riding their Guzzi Sidecar up the hillclimb, that'll bring a few Guzzi freaks out of the woodwork, best stock up on light beer for them...

That's great news. I was talking to one of them after Wangas and they were keen to give it a crack.

The Committee has asked me to relay to everyone to please not practice the hill climb at speed. No problem with doing some sighting runs at the legal speed limit but there have been a few comments made by local residents again this year. There is even talk about the possible use of a mobile speed camera if it continues. We need the cooperation of the locals to be able to have this event - please pass this mesage on.

A formal complaint has been lodged with Police regarding riders practicing/speeding up the hill climb road. We really don't need this attention and the event could suffer because if it.

Please pass this on to anyone you know who rides up that way, especially if they are one of the culprits.

I have put my entry in, looking forward to giving this another go. This is a unique event which we are very lucky to have - 6.1km of motorcyling heaven. Talk on here about it seems to be be a bit quiet for some reason - where is all the smack talk we used to get around this in previous years?

By the bridge is a good spot, or from the bridge climb over the hill above the dam.

Weather is overcast but people on the ground think it will burn off.

Small (quickish) group leaving Rimutex at 8.45am if anyone else is keen.

Still quite grey over here on the west coast, but looking at the sat map i'd say them on the ground are right and ya won't see any rain, apart from a little on the takas or track on the way over, just some nice sun blocking fluffy overcast stuff keepin the worst of the heat from frying ya brains !

Just texting a few over here to see if any want to join me in a nosey today !!
