Hey all ive just moved over here from America i stayed in California, age is only a number and i enjoy my loopy roads. Look forward to chatting among this forum and learning the kiwi way. I seen the laws are a lil different here and people are a lil more feisty compared to those back home. Looking forward to a new racing season here in NZ hope to get one of the 3 bikes cleared within NZ and roadworthy, i currently have international driving demerits im only over for 4 months on a Work contract. I work as a Project Manager for Desto which is an american firm and we manage a number of household and commercial properties. I being among this forum for a while now just checking it out here and there, i thought since i am now living here it may be worth me investing my time in my own user, as you can see.

All is well and looking forward to exciting, up-most, thrilling experience of racing in NZ.

Regards,

Clint

Whats it like in Auckland whats the riding like? very nice down here, not alot of cops and being not too far from the track is ideal. Hampton Downs?

its a bit like riding in a city.. but with harbours, mountains, volcanoes. I prefer it.. the Intruder is ok on the open roads, but it prefers "cruisin the streets"

oh, and fyi (if anyone but me cares), the latest episode of American Chopper, Senior vs jr, is out (S03E01)

The only good thing about Ngaruawahia is how many good riding roads there are to get out of there.

You've not been here long then? We have all the 'isms, think of it as a NZ specialty.

Although I think that is more of an attempt to get you to pronounce it that way. Which would be funny, in a not funny, racism is ok if it's a joke, kind of way.

Apparently I should lighten up.

Any country Europeans have colonised has racism. If you're in Auckland or north you'd barely notice any upfront racism, everyones pretty accepting given the ethnic diversity. Although you'll notice minorities tend to live in lower socio-economic groups than whites, with higher crime rates and everything associated. Apparently down in the south where whites are a much stronger majority they have quite strong racism. No matter if you're a 5th generation Chinese or fresh off the boat.

Though as soon as I hear an American accent I can get quite testy...

Some of them even travel themselves. It seems the OP has a blinkered view of the world (well - he is american). Then he has the utter gall to stereotype us all as racists.
:psst: do americans still not understand irony?

This is the best place left on the planet man!! We are like most other people on the planet as we too are opinionated, stereotypical , racist muppets like every other country. The big difference is we dont jam our culture or politics or religion down everyone elses throat like the media & politicians of America so like to do.
So enjoy the freedom!!
