New study shows that brain functionality is improved as a result of regular motorcycle riding.

We's smart bastards.

New study shows that brain functionality is improved as a result of regular motorcycle riding.................and another study has confirmed that too much time spent posting on websites nullifies the gains from regular motorcycle riding.................

I had read reports of the Tokyo study previously but some of the other information was of interest. In particular the comparison of those who practiced compared to those who thought about it.
That alone makes the countless hours I spent "dry firing" firearms worthwhile...

So what exactly did Darwin have to say about motorcycles specifically ? :corn:

That's good, because I've jellified it so often that it needs that sort of help.

Anybody mentioned this to ACC or to those in charge of 'safer journies'? Could be worth giving them a bit of perspective given all they seem to focus on is the negative.

Change that to "Darwin Awards". Stupid people do stupid shit, and would remove themselves from the sample, hence the analysis would show that the average intelligence / functionality had gone up!

Spurious correlation huh? You may well be right. Temporal contiguity does not, of necessity, imply causality...

Oh and there is a difference between intelligence and common sense...as certain people have been at pains to point out to me on many occasions...:oi-grr:

The Darwin Awards are a load of bollocks. Survival of the fittest don't really apply to a knob in a car trying to run me off the road yesterday....car driver intelligence is going down as cars get smarter.

it applies, just, running you off the road has no immediate consequences for said knob's reproductive success..
now, said knob's driving may have immediate consequences for *your* reproductive success
why do you think we're so paranoid about the dumb shit cagers pull.

Agreed. With the other side being that being aware of said knob in cage and realising that being right doesn't equal survival and that sometimes you are the one that has to stop even though you have legal right of way increases your chance of reproductive success.
Survival also seems to height sexual desire so whilst the knob in the cage is snoring you are more likely to be practising. :woohoo:

I do, if I don't concentrate hard I fall off loads. Actually I fall off loads anyway. Maybe I'm not concentrating hard enough.

Just cos motorcycling improves my intelligence, doesn't mean it makes me smart. Just makes me not as dumb as I would be if I didn't do it.

As for reproducing ...my task is completed.....I'm expendable now.

Really! When I stopped breeding, I found I became expandable ;)
