The hypocrisy of it. He's advertising unhealthy products that rot kids teeth and is therefore dodging his responsibility as a hero to the children of NZ... all to make some money. Praps the NZRU should pay him more so that he doesn't set these double standards.

Why? His earning span in sport is short, why not maximize it?

There are plenty of other jobs in and around sport that do not require playing that pay equally as well. May as well encourage kids to lose their teeth I guess... why not do a toothpaste Ad instead?

I'd think about the ramifications of my actions if I were a "celebrity". It would seem that there are some who would rather make the fast buck and not put the hard yards in like everyone else.

Hes a sportsman, not a celebrity. And has a short time to earn.
Guess he just ran out on the field one day and started playing without any training. <_<

Ok, we'll have it your way. As I said before, his sporting career doesn't have to end when he finishes playing.
I guess he must have, I guess, like many others who do jobs, that we all just did what we wanted without any training and we don't all sell out.

Get off your bloody extremist high horse!
He has no responsibility to the children of NZ! He's a sports player of a let's chase a ball on grass variety. Woop di doo basil if he fronts for Coke. Do you never drink soft drinks in front of kids?! Wouldn't want them copying you now would you, you bloody drug pedaller!
Any kid who is that fanatic about something like rugby will probably end up working for the local mill anyway, don't need nice teeth for that job! :wait:

So he's not a role model then? I drink Coke in front of my kids and tell them they can't have any and explain why and I would expect similar consideration from role models... but that's ok, there's money to be earned.
Fair point.

Michael Jones is peddling health insurance and Stacy Jones is the face of instant Finance. Piri's a bigger fish right now, but his promotion of bad products is usual for these guys. David Tua and Burger King....
I agree that these guys should consider the products they promote..... He looked bad in his last game so nyeh nyeh

So judge them thus
Piri has a manager who is a soulless money whore willing to facilitate that Piris fans including children be hoodwinked into buying shit drinks, for $$ and fame in the media.... Hes already got toddlers on the bad milk, may as well go for kids and adults as well...............
I hope all goes well for him, and he understands social responsibility better in the future. Maybe he needs a hard lesson...

Hero's can't drinks sugary drinks..... I certainly hope this is said in jest...
Nothing wrong with Coke or any other sugary drinks, when consumed in moderation. We occasionally had it as kids and still do on the weekends now and I (and my siblings who are also all adults now) have perfectly healthy teeth.
I know what we could do next...lets legislate against it...:brick:

As Brett said all fine until it's in excess, shit even orange juice is bad for you if you drink to much.

Kids drink coke because parents buy it or give kids money to buy it.
As johnny walker said - everything in moderation. You can train your kids. None of ours have teeth problems or are fat.
Piri's not at fault here. Blame the parents I reckon.
