Hi, good day...

after sayin g'd day in the newbe section, now a question for the wise people out there... we are on the south island and my wife would like to have a CB400 NC36... So; who is a nice (always in the eye of the beholder, I know:crazy:) and trustworthy importer from Japan in Dunedin or Christchurch or elsewhere on the south island? I only found posts from 2005 / 06 so fare. If anybody has any advice: Please give it to us. We would like a CB400 (NC36! important... no super four... because she love the retro style of that specific model:whistle:) in good to excellent condition with less than 20000k. We hoped to find something for 5.5 to 6 gran ( in NZ; all included...)... is that realistic?

Hope to hear some opinions soon!

See ya on the road...

There are a few over here already. I'm assuming you want the Hyper VTEC motor then?
I'd suggest looking around for one in NZ first, much better in terms of economics.
Cool little bikes the NC36 :D

I know. But why bother with the NC36? It isn't "that" much better and that particular bike is a really nice Super Four.

The Super Four is just another generic naked/commuter, the NC36 has serious retro coolness, which I assume is why the OP clearly differentiated.

I had a Super Four and the images I've found of NC36 on the 'net looks pretty similar to my old bike. Just a different exhaust system ... 2 pipes instead of one like the original 750/4.

Hi,

like I said in my thread. It has to be a CB400 NC36. It's for my beloved wife and she wants spoke wheels, 4 in 4 exhaust. The whole retro caboudle... so thanks for the lovely advice BUT it will be one of them even if some of you don't understand. If it makes her happy, she'll get one...;)...

And it has to be a 400 because she's short...:weep:

Thanks

Uli

Hi Stephen it has to be the bike mentioned to make her happy. The retro style is hers. and it has to be a 400 because she's short. We had to lower her bike in NZ ( GS500 ) to quite an extend and the NC36 suits short people just brilliantly!!! She sat on one in Germany and it fits like a glove... So we/ she want/s one. That's how it is... maybe you can leave a contact on which I can skype/call you and we can talk about what is possible...

Thanks

Uli

I know this thread is a little old, but was wondering if you got your hands on a nice NC36?

Reason being is that was the first bike I owned in Japan, a mint condition gun metal grey 1998 model which I rode all over the kanto plains until a Tokyo taxi destroyed it , and I'm thinking of getting another for my wife.

A sublime mix of modern performance with old world charm. Better than those common as muck Super Fours... ;)
