here, this link (http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/165/77/) explains apparently how you can gain a potential additional 12hp from adding a jumper on the bikes ECU loom to give a richer running high RPM. But this only works for north US/Cdn spec bikes, and brings the bike to 'euro' specs. May be you could check to see if it's like that, and try it, see what happens..
** I have no idea if you'd fry your ECU by getting it wrong **
And I don't think the warranty will cover your fuk up. So be sure if you try it. Don't think it'd be something that would get checked at any point, but if the bike goes in for repairs on any electrical issues, it might get checked over..
Anyway, enjoy. Might give you 05 riders the chance to keep up with us 03/04 riders :devil2:

a dyno run with and without the jumper in place.. Blue line is with the jumper
anyone here tried it yet? These US guys (http://kawiforums.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=37419) at Kawi Forums have done it, and say it works..
and it's 05 bikes only..

What gasoline were they using? and surely this has a great effect on power output?

I think mine is running OK. Have you called your Kwaka dealer to resolve the performance issues of your green machine? Maybe see if they'll do this mod for you, get that bike going a bit better?

no. no such thing.
Nhuan, I don't think a kawa shop will happily mod your bike like this for ya.. besides, a mod that'd take a few minutes to do, and cost almost nothing, they'd charge you an hours' labour.. ain't worth it..
Also, this mod is for the restricted 'US' spec bikes.. so might not work for the ones we got. Just thought it'd be curious to find out. Apparently the Euro spec bikes aren't restricted. This was done to keep Kawa on the road with gas emmisions etc in the states.. So mod away

BJ, I know that a dealer wouldn't do this sorta thing. It was more a suggestion put forward to help Kawagreen find out what is wrong with his bike :Pokey:
I think the Noo Zoolund bikes are Canadian/49 state spec, so this mod could apply: if you needed to feel real gangsta or summin. I still can't find all the horses the factory shipped in the crate...

OK OK, nothing wrong with my bike, its purely rider related, so Ive been told, personally I feel Nhuan has done the mod and thats why he keeps getting away from me. It cant be ME. .lolol. NZ bikes are Canadian spec, the mod would work. BUT, its not that much of a gain, and could void any warranty related issues.
Doesnt seem worth it to me, as I dont ride any where near what the bike can do.

ok, pic guide on how to:
take the seat off the bike, then look for the plug in the pic, stick in the jumper, put seat back on, ride a little faster. 10hp is a lot, especially when it's free..
1st dyno run. Stock 2005 ZX-6RR ran at 2:38:16 PM 92.5 HP
2nd dyno run. ECU wires jumpered ran at 2:39:36 PM 101.7 HP
if you don't like it, take it off.. when it goes for a service etc, take it off.. you think it's playing up, take it off.. takes no time at all..

Are the US ones down on power ?, thought these babies had 136 hp. Even allowing for transmission losses the dyno results should be higher. Is this one a bad example ?

As a point of interest, would this have an effect on fuel consumption? If so, why not do away with the jumper, and instead run a couple of wires up to a switch mounted on your handlebar. Kinda like a go-fast button . . . flick the switch when you are wanting to burn someone off, then flick it back again for the commute into work. Besta both worlds . . . and its another gadget to impress the fans with ;)

kawa got hammered on emmisions or something like that, so the easiest thing to do is restrict. Only on US/Canadian spec. NZ and Oz get Canadian spec bikes. European bikes aren't restricted.
As for using extra fuel, the more horses you have, the more it gobbles. But the power restriction is further up the rev range (have a look at the dyno sheet on the second post). Something like 12,000+ and up. If you dyno a restricted bike, it kinda goes flat quickly. With the mod, it goes up and peaks higher. So you'd be running the extra fuel anyway cos you'd be gassing it. Around town and normal riding, it wouldn't make much difference
