Once the thing is in superbike trim it will hardly be any different to what we are currently using. Slight difference in swingarm and Brembo callipers

It says there are a whole lot of different things, like the grippier .......

...... seat, and the red pinstriped wheels.

A new GSXR1000? With *gasp* subtle cosmetic changes, and approximately the same power and weight?

Be still, my beating heart.

So is "subtle cosmetic changes" code for better looking riders ?

Yes its evolution of quite a few detailed but important changes on an already solid package. It seems everyone wants change all the time and talk and talk about it, but where are all the road bike buyers to justify the huge development costs for such change? The market for sportsbikes is largely tits up at the moment.
Also, but for the enthusiasm and drive of one man within Suzuki NZ there would be no Suzuki road race team. I wouldnt assume that this situation will prevail forever. Money does not grow on trees to go road racing and you just need to look at the other distributors to see what they are ( not ) spending on road racing

Like I said FAG:tugger: ONCE IT IS IN RACE TRIM with kit cams kit pistons machined heads and block and kit ecu and wiring loom and Ohlins rear Shock and fork internals it will be basically the same bike we have now:tugger:

Maybe if the rules only permitted blueprinting and tuning using original brand name parts it would make a difference. Under the current regs, you are no doubt correct. Unless the 2012 model is less likely to fall down...

The rules for NZSBK are quite liberal and the field is very well subscribed. Even allowing for some end of season attrition. The cost controlled classes are rather less well subscribed, in spite of all the grizzling to rein in costs. Go figure......

Ive seen other riders crash moreso than Craig this year, and much more spectacularly. I think what Robbie will have cost SNZ this season will be horrendous. Ken Jones crash ( considerably aided and abetted by a stupidly oversprung front end ) will also go down as a very expensive crash. John Ross's two crashes have also scuppered any 600cc title aspirations. I dont think Craig has an exclusive on being ridiculed for crashing when truth be known he has forgotten more about going fast than most who ridicule him have ever learnt.

As one of Craig's sponsors I have enormous respect for his ability and always speak highly of him to my associates. Craig doesn't mind the gentle jibes, I hope...

The cost controlled classes race with the much more liberal classes, meaning they're down on power and don't have the really good suspension bits compared to the rest of the grid. Winning in class doesn't really do it when all the photos show you finishing 7th or so.

It isn't only SNZ Robbie has cost crashing - it was my bike he stuck in the tyre wall at Tere, "Sorry mate" might have been nice, so might have been a show of appreciation at prizegiving, for a bloke who gave up his ride to help after another Tripple R engine blew up. Good luck next time anybody wants somthing from me.Six weeks to get the bike back to what it was prior-You live and learn.

Fair comments, no question. The list is long of stuff that has been borrowed by many over the years and not always returned in the same condition. So much is taken for granted and really no-one has the right to expect anything for free.

i like the one bike per weekend rule personally , i might put forward a rule change ,as overseas,
stops people building hotrod engines or crashing and getting someone elses bike,
6 weeks to get your own bike back ................. mmmmmmmmmm

Theres nothing wrong in itself with people building ''hotrod'' engines for a premier class. Such a class should not be too dumbed down and its not all about the riders. Engineering input is a big part of it all and should remain so.

Ive tended to learn over the years, that stuff lent out has a 50/50 chance of coming back, & a similar chance of coming back to you unscathed :-)

(Fork top tools included aye RT) :-)
