Seems that nature has in the past built it's own nuclear reactors.

Bloody nature - it's about time that he/she was revealed as the uncaring environmental vandal that he/she really is.

I reckon - what about the bloody dinosaurs, eh? And those poor anaerobic bacteria that She poisoned off with oxygen before that - the list goes on. Fuckin' Nature, seems a lifeform can't get past a couple of million years without Her bumping it off...

Interesting mix - Gaea is Graeco-Roman, Herne/Cernunnos is Continental Celtic and Huey is the Patron God of all roofing contractors and road workers... Truly cosmopolitan, you are.

The existence of these reactors was cleverly woven into a series of SF novels. The story was that the natural structures were created by the survivors of a crashed alien ship so that their chimp like immature forms would mutuate, with the help of radiation, and thus survive.("Protector" -can't recall the author)

The book "Protector" is by Larry Niven - it's part of his "Known Space" series along with the "Ringworld" books and a heap of others.
