A blind biker is to attempt a world record of 170mph. Stuart Gunn, 38, from Broughton, Edinburgh is to attempt to beat the existing record of 164mph this Summer.
Mr Gunn lost his sight ten years ago, when a van swapped lanes in front of him and he ran into it. “Half of my body went through the sunroof, the other half through the windscreen” he said “I remember lying there on the road thinking I could either give up there and then, or fight and carry on living.”
Mr Gunn hopes to use the challenge, which will raise money for RNIV Scotland amongst other charities as a springboard to show he is capable of returning to work.
