Phwwaaaa it was a close one this morning. I was running a little late, I get onto the motorway by going down a road that goes under the motorway for people going north (I go south) but I do a U-turn at or before the intersection to get into the southbound onramp.
traffic was backed up and I was in the far right lane. separating the lanes is a 10cm high curb with angled edges. I didnt fancy splitting up between so I jumped my bike onto the curb and went past about 10 cars. 3 cars before the lights where I would get off was a police car. *crap* still I couldnt just stop there, so casual as, I kept doing it. I jumped off the curb about where the cops front tire was and moved to the front of the que waiting for the siren.
still nothing, hmmm perhaps he wants to get me on the motorway or do my U'y first so I dont just race off. well I did but still nothing.
I think Ernie asked the biker gods to blind the police man while I did it or something.
I must have made some converts.

That's naughty! :nono:
I would never do anything like that.
Apart from that one time I rode on the grass/gravel next to the motorway.
Or those other times that the road was full up with cars so I used the footpath
So don't be naughty! Never ever never do it again. Ever.
Never.

I didn't see him this morning (bit of a bugger - I was looking out for him too!)
I was going to vigorously tootle my horn and wave...
no worries - always tomorrow!

O the NW motorway, heading into town, just before the Newton offramp, a guy stands therein the mornings - sometimes with a box ofbeers, sometimes just looking West - sometimes. just... well... I'm not sure.
We adopted him as our NW Motorway mascot and dubbed him "Ernie"
Now we have a name to discuss, and we wave and toot every now and then too. Just being neighbourly

Why ? (Apart from the risk of Mr Plod). Don't see that's it's unsafe or inconsiderate

I agree's
In fact proberly safer than lane spliting incase someone opened their door.
that doesnt mean that as soon as I has got on the motorway I did or did not lane split into work though

How many of our road laws actually have a firm basis in such pragmatic considerations as safety, consideration, and the like? :spudwhat:
Oh, for a return to sensibility....
When I'm God (cue Zed :nono: ), I'm gonna do away with most of the stupid laws we have. And real-estate agents.

They (like most agents - except maybe Secret Agents) are parasites. I will invent a special drench for them....

Bugger. I thought there was going to be a long funny story.
You don't need a drench. Just ban all motivational speakers from NZ, Real estate agents will all slowly fade away.

But a vile-tasting, slow-acting drench would be more fun. :devil2:
Sorry about the lack of a story, Lou.
We've not actually had a bad run with them, but the one we bought Casa Ramshackle from/via/through made up for that. Wanker. Dick. Knob end. Eejit.
But sssstill we hatessss them, yessss we doessss. Nassty little parassssitessssss...
