KONY 2012 - Stop at nothing!

My niece recently brought this to my attention. Being the well informed young social activist she is. Bless her. That I should tell everyone I know about this man, so that the whole world knows. And that if we draw enough attention to him, together we can stop him.

So who is Joseph Kony ? In short, he is the headman of the Lords Resistance Army, founded in Uganda. He has committed terrible atrocities against the people (mainly children) going back 20 some years.

Interesting I thought, this is a bad motherfucker.

So I spent about an hour looking at other youtube videos. After only 2 or 3 days of this video being public, there is all kinds of talk of misuse of the publics moneys by the charity "Invisible children". That most of the Ugandan footage used in the video is misleading as it was filmed years ago. And that Kony isn't even in Uganda anymore, that he is holed up in a jungle somewhere. America only wants involvement in the situation now because Congo has publicly announced they have oil and other mineral deposits in the Trillions of dollars value and this is their foot in the door..

Ones of those links provided has video footage of a naked man (supposedly Russell) on his knees at an intersection, slapping the ground repeatedly, then leaning back to show the world his tackle and proclaim his dominion over the intersection.

So I made that last bit up.. But that's about how seriously this thing should be taken now.

The real shit now is China vs US, with Africa as the battleground.

Eh? Well known fact for a long time that those areas and a lot of Africa is hugely rich in natural resources its no surprise to anyone. Conflict and tragedy is brought so much closer to home when you can sit in Starbucks looking trendy and politically aware posting HQ videos of it on facebook and streaming it onto your iPad/iPhone to show the world how much you care. :facepalm:
