To all of you who have never ridden in a staggered formation for group rides...particularly large GROUP rides...maybe too specifically those requiring SLOW SPEED at times...read up on it!

It is not hard, it is not rocket science and frankly it's so elementary that if you are incapable of doing it successfully frankly you need to sell the bike and go back to your cage.


ALSO - if you are in a funeral procession, don't over take everyone and try to squeeze yourself unexpected into the front of the group.

How hard can it be? Just follow the guy/gal in front at an appropriate distance and offset to their position in the lane. Am I missing something? (said the guy who has only done 3 group rides in his life)

I stayed in formation, checked a text message, adjusted the idle air/fuel mixture, scratched my arse, drew the line at actually answering the phone call, but will cut a bit out of the helmet so the fliptop fits up beside the ear !
A lot of it was beside an Rg 150 i think it was, we fit well together on a slow ride we did !

Other than a race track where else can you be passed up the inside of a left hander just as you are turning in? And there is nothing quite like watching the bike in front of you overtake 3 or 4 bikes into a blind corner and proceed to take said blind corner in the other lane.

Not a big fan of group rides myself. Too many dorks slicing through the middle, outside blind corner,inside blind corner, 3 a breast etc etc. Yea na, not for me.
