Purchased on the back of Campbell's results in the 3 hour endurance race?
You know the slogan - 17th on Sunday sell on Monday.
Good for you. No better feeling than a new scoot.

he's a tart - he's been pissing Tiger in my pocket lately.
Coincidently I rode the bikes out to that photo shoot.

He may be a tart, but he can ride...here he is on his Cagiva, where no Cagiva has a right to be.

Yeah - as before - love to - but I have to be able to scam a bike - none of 'my' Brands have a suitable demo, and I don't really want to ask Vege for his, I'd rather he rode it and went too.

It'll be Tiger country.
Alternatively, don't KR have a TDM900 coming up?

No tiger demo going at the moment - but Plan b has legs.
I'll ask.

I could be a starter if it's a weekend. How are we gonna come back? Wairoa & through hwy 38? or Taupo Rd then thru the Waipunga? (either way we can stop off at me Mum's (http://www.hukitawa.co.nz) for lunch) or go large & hit Gizzy & the Motu Rd?
Cheers

What's that front tyre?
Continental TKC80.
I'd highly recommend it as an adventure tyre.

Cool. I could tee up accomodation at my friend's station out the back of Matawai, the shearers quarters are pretty salubrious, & they have a new hunting lodge out the back that is awesome, but not very accessible on a big trailie if it's wet. Getting that far might make it a bit of a long day though.

Congrats, Oscar. Is that the litre V-Strom, or the 'Wee-Strom'?
Don't forget to change your profile.

Thanks man, it's the litre bike - I've still got my LC4, the V-Strom is for the road or long distance adventure stuff.
I basically wanted summat I could ride to Wellington on, but could still take the "adventure" route, say through Whangaehu...
It came with a lowered seat (which I might put back to standard), and a big screen which looks naff* but works really well so I'm looking forward to some long rides.
*Thank you to the complete wanker who gave me negative rep. 'cause he thought it was "an ugly piece of shit". Fucking tool.

Met with the publisher and the stunt man this arvo - he made noises like 'leave pass' and 'getaway' with a worried look on his dial - after conceding that the TDM was a possibility and then having the coversation subsequently hijacked by Stretch and footage of Rileys Skid marks.
HE was concerned that it's the same weegend as the Cold kiwi and a manfield day - relevance to the price of eggs - I'm not sure.
Call it the germ of a plan then. What dates you got?

They were impressive.
Stretch did like the V-Strom, we couldn't get him off it the other day on our jaunt. It was the 650 version though.
Yobbo's we are not, that is hurtful. Uncouth maybe............

2-4 September.
I can't see what the Cold Kiwi has to do with it, either.

I doubt that making me sigh and shake my head qualifies as "pissing me off".
You should ask your Mother before signing up to an big boys website though, Sonny.

I haven't had a chance to ask my mum but your mum said it was fine when i was with her last night.

My Mum has mothered several big boys who own proper motorcycles - I think she'd laugh at a young weasel like you on a toy bike.

On the Stretch's V-strom - um prolly 90/90 X 19 front and 140ish on the back.
On my LC4 90/90X21 and 140x18 - they're rated for 200kph.

Bugger.
I've got a 150x17 already on the rear but it's difficult finding something to match in a 120x17 for the front.

When I was looking for something for the front of the Tedium (18"), I was told you could run a rear 120 or 130 Pirelli Scorpion backwards.
Edit: Conti do make a 120/90x17 and a 130/80x17 rear. Would they work?

What did you think of the TDM and would it be OK 2 up as a gentle paced touring bike? There are a few cheap (ish) Tigers about but for people of modest means they could be expensive to run?

The TDM is great two up, 'cause it's so smooth and torquey.
It'll sit on slightly extra-legal speeds all day.
In this class (call them "Adventurer Tourers") - depending on yer budget I'd say TDM's and V-Strom's are the best bang for your buck. I like Tigers, but I got an '04 Strom for the price of a five year old Triumph...
