How many idiots do we witness everyday riding with no gloves on and with clothing that is totally inadequate for abrasion protection etc? Everyday I ride to work I see high school kids riding to school on scooters, shorts or skirts, short sleeves, no gloves etc. How much unneccesary expenditure is there with ACC claims as a result?
I think overall the perspective on this site is very one sided in that respect and Nick Smith has been overly maligned as the devil incarnate. The reality is there are many motorcyclists who assisted the institution of such unpalatable levies. No-one wants more and more intrusion and levy increases from whomever is ''Big Brother'' at the time, including me. But there are two sides to every story, once you seperate polarised emotion from it.
