Just bought my first bike, a Suzuki Volty (otherwise known as TU250) - loving it. I'm wanting to look after this girl well but unfortunately have no idea where to start. Does anyone know where I can find the manual for a 2000 volty or alternatively is able to give me some good general tips on bike maintenance?

All helps appreciated

Cheers

For engine maintenance you can use a GN250 manual.
Other stuff = checking tyre pressures, looking for loose bolts, cleaning it (trust me, it helps) making sure the lights all work.
Make sure the brakes work well.
Clutch working nice.
Rear shocks not seeping fluid.
No fluid seeping around the seals on the forks.
No rattles or funny wobbles at any speed.

If in doubt with anything, put a thread up here and there will be help.
Enjoy the bike

Hey, we have a Suzuki Volty, TU250, that we aren't riding anymore, it is just sitting in the shed, it still runs alright, but my brother who used to ride it now has a car, but we have been thinking lately of chucking it on trade me, it would probably be a great bike for spare parts etc :)

Anything wrong with it?

Hi guys, I have just bought my first bike, a 96 Suzuki Volty and I'm new yo thus and wanting to learn and look after this bike.
Can anyone please tell me where I can get a manual for this bike as I want to find out the correct oil and filter to use.
I have just noticed the oil cap is slightly broken off at the tip where you turn and I'm wondering what would be the best way to unscrew. I'm in West Auckland and if anyone can recommend a motorcycle mechanic or someone that wouldn't mind taking a look I would really appreciate it as for peace of mind I would like to get a service on the bike although it is running really well, I would at least like to change the oil.

Thanks in advance for helping out a newbie! Cheers. Dave
