Police have revealed a security alert which closed the M6 in Warwickshire was caused by a stolen motorcycle which had been dumped.
A spokesman for the Central Motorway Police Group said: "The roads were closed as a precaution. A controlled explosion was conducted on the bag, which whilst suspicious, was found to be harmless and not connected with the ongoing threat."
The motorcycle was stolen in north London in May and has now been recovered for forensic examination.
