It's on TM with a $1 start. PM or call me if you're a KBer interested in the machine. The bike needs a little love. This is my sons bike that he is now selling. He's looking for a project bucket racer. He'd look at a trade. He can't commit to buying a bucket racer till he knows what money he has.

I also have a bunch of other motorbikes and parts I'll be listing so get hold of me if you're interested. Clean out time.

1989? CBR400RR Pre 89 Race bike - a good looking and running bike.

1988 CBR600 Pre 89 RAce bike - in the process of rebuild, new wheel bearings, new steering head bearings, swing arm greased etc, race pads available, spare set of wheels, frame stripped and painted. The bike is in the process of rebuild as lightly as possible as a racer so you get a few boxes of goodies, motor done 70,000km and still looking good. Available in the state it's in. I have a CBR600 Pre 89 racer so you'll always be able to get hold of me about this one. Includes a race fairing that needs work and fitting to the bike.

1990 ZZR600 rolling frame good for parts. Apparently was a runner before being stripped down, only good for parts, 17inch 4.5 rear and 3.5 front wheels suitable for pre 89 or motard. I was told the motor was a runner when parked up and stripping started. HAs a box of bits. A friend was going to recreate it as a Pre 89 racer and apparently it qualifies.

SV650 wheel, 2 sets, 17 inch 4.5 rear and 3.5 front includes discs and hubs. No tyres.

ZZR600 front 4.5 and rear 3.5 wheels includes hubs

Suzuki GN250, chrome work is okay, bike a little untidy but goes well.

Thanks, that was my sons job. Now we have to find him a bucket racer or potential bucket racer. And learn what classes there are etc. My limits are 4 stroke. His are $$. He's in form 3 and next year in form 4 they get to build their own mini bike as part of the technology programme (and race it too I think). That should be an interesting exercise.

I'm just glad he likes bikes. With my other 3 one thinks they are dangerous and won't even hop on for a ride down the road, one would go for a ride on the back in a carpark and the other will happily do a road ride from time to time. Funnily the last one is in a class at Uni where her male class mates are mad as on bikes. She's not. So at home or in class the talk revolves around bikes... I thought that was too funny when she told me.

I'm really curious to see what bucket racer he ends up with. It would have been great to have the bike at the beginning of the holidays to spend time working on it.

I looked into this myself and I can't see how a ZZR600 can be allowed in pre89. The "Ninja" 600 in 1989 was a GPX. The ZZR600 wasn't launched in Australasia or Europe or states until 1990.

All the 600 "ninjas" in the States were known as ZX-6...thus causing confusion.
GPX600 is ZX600-C (had a 10 year production run and sold concurrently with the laster ZZR)
ZZR600 is ZX600-D

Yeah not an argument I'd want to have. The guy reckoned manufacture started in 1989. It's probably best left for someone else to argue.

Funny that, all we need is a paddock.

He's going to have a look at a bucket project which sounds about as much project as the bike he's selling.

You can still bid on this. Although it seems you're in CHch. Don't they have a heap of up to 125 older road bikes for sale down there. Dirt tyres and they'd have a scrambler.

How much are you wanting to spend because there are the Honda Monkey and other similar bikes. I Forgot we have one of those and a RB50 (I think both are road rego'd too). Both will need to go.
