Hello
On one trail ride, muddy, alot of high end reving etc.. the bike ran fine.
A night before another trail rider, I started me bike up, first kick.. and smoke filled the carport. Idle was slightly higher ??, I suspected the new air cleaner oil.. however I applied it very litely and made sure there were no blotchs or anything.. anyways, lubed it the right way.
It fowled 3 times on a ride in the weekend, everytime after a section where the bike was just idling along, or running down a hill. I would go to pull back on the throttle and BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR BA BA BURR, BABA BURRRRRRRRR... dead.. pushing time.
Upon putting in another plug, a kick.. she's off.. until another 40 minutes.. BA BA BURRRR... anyhow..
I changed it down 1 main jet size from 440 to stock 430. No difference, I did not really expect a difference.
No excessive overflow from the carb, just a bit of trip.. about right when you are bumping over stuff like a mad nutter.
Anyhow.. to the man cave.
I stipped the carb, checked the float height 7.5mm (Spot on), Slow jet is at 55, air screw is 1 3/4 (All stock). So I thought I would change somthing.. to see if it would improve the situation.. I changed the slow jet to a 52.5 .. no change.
The bike will still run for a while and fowl the plug.
The bike has done 67 hrs and has had a new top end 5 hrs ago.
Any ideas ?
The only two items it could that I can think of is :
Float hight, even though I have checked it
Right hand, gearbox crank seal
Because I am running Rockoil in the gearbox, it does not smell like burning engine oil.. so I cant really identify it.
Has anyone done a bottom rebuild ? are you able to list the amount of parts you had to replace and the price ?
More diagnostic info...
I checked the flywheel side cover, no oil residue, dry as anything and zero play in the up and down/diagonal movement of the flywheel, So the bearings, atleast on that side is mint.
The plug colour is black, no carbon buildup and very VERY wet.
I have also tried disconnecting the kill switch and riding it incase it was just some dump thing like that (being hopefull)
Still could be a float issue though! as the problem came on real sudden.
It starts first kick.. still pulls the front wheel up on the gas, rings have to be ok.
Cheers
