He said: “I decided to do a U-turn like I’d done there before and I saw this white car miles away in the distance.“It was safe to make the turn and I indicated. I looked in the mirror and over my shoulder. I was half-way across when I saw this car on top of me and I remember thinking: ‘This is going to hurt’.“From looking to see the car in the distance to it hitting me was easily less than five seconds.”
Danny — who has been driving for six months — believes his £1,700 car is a write-off after it suffered severe damage to the front offside. Balotelli’s £120,000 Bentley was also bashed up by the impact.

Interesting how the paper slants it so heavily against the footballer despite there being no evidence to suggest he was doing anything other than driving down the road.

Thoughts....

Hard to tell from Sun news report , but:

Is it a SMIDSY? The guy did see the bentley but then decided to do the U turn anyway, which makes me wonder how fast the bentley was going or accelerating.

The newspaper article is more of a casual observation, and doesn't have enough information to draw any conclusions. More than likely there wasn't one factor that caused the accident, but several.

About the only dissapponinting aspect was that the footballer didn't get out of his car to check on the other person.

I have seldom heard of an "accident" with only one factor listed as the cause ... and why Police often state speed was "a factor" (along with often the old favourites Booze and inattention)

Probably too busy on the phone to his Lawyer ...
