A few other projects left to go before I get back on to it; but I am keen. I actually have a proper workshop to use now too. http://www.fsae.co.nz (The one belonging to this fine team)

If anybody knows anyone with some super kart (6" dia) wheels around give me a yell.

Been running one at Mt Welly on practice days and have just picked up Speedpros old one from Wellington so we'll need some competition for that. Couple of others complete and able to run up here in Auckland

Just where to run it is the question. We run two bucket classes on Kart days (which is overwhelming majority) so don't expect to run sidecars at Wellington. Maybe if you are prepared to do Pacific days they might. . .

Hi crazy man, be keen on a copy of the video if that's possible. Just need to give the sidecar a good tidy up and away we go.

That reminds me of something that happened when i picked up sidecar on friday, since the kart track was just up the road we decided to go and have a look at it. Were meet at the gate by a chap in a red BMW who's first comment was ''your not running that on our track'' such a friendly person, it was pointed out to him that we had only stopped to see what the track looked like as i raced karts but had never been down here before. He probably wouldn't want my gearbox kart on his track either, to many sharp pieces on it to damage his track if i flipped it.

Hi crazy man. I swung for speedpro for those years. The gearing was short at the GP,so we pulled massive revs for the hole straight but the MB motor hung together. Very nice chair. So easy to swing on. Could I get a copy of the video or could you post it on here.

Next meeting though the big end seized. It actually blued the crank wheels next to the pin.

Yep hilarious, will be interesting to see who gets what job or if we split duties. I do know I'd rather be the guy sliding down the track on his back having fallen off than the guy left without a swinger, having done both today.

Hopefuly he's chopped it up into little tiny pieces. The KX500 did a good job of trying to break it up into little tiny pieces - what a laugh at Wanganui, from a distance.

Lol! If I drive I will cross the Finnish line first ..
Do I have to build a new barrow ? You know how much I like port ...
Might have to sell the RS !

A good mate from uk looked at the pics on FB and said I have to glue carpet on my chest and start smoking roll ups now

Henk
16th April 2012, 21:08
I recon the port race would be a dead heat. Unless I threw myself forward off the chair as we crossed the line. Stranger things have happened.
I propose we play turn about driving and swinging unless one combination or the other proves to give us a clear advantage.

jeez, all this talk of a re-introduction of chairs is making me a little moist. About 15 years ago I was giving that a go and loved every minute on the track and in the pits, up until the point my swinger who was SUPPOSED to be paying for half buggered off to the states leaving me with all the bills and a half built new chair for the next season.
Was racing #47, CB125T powered grey monstrosity with 10" slicks f+r, kart chair wheel.
Is there enough interest to bring this back from the dead? Particularly central north island/auckland area (am in Hamilton)?
I'll finish the chair if I have too, either to race or just to sell. Recommend me an engine?

Henk
20th April 2012, 22:02
Things are moving in Auckland, Rick and I have bought a Longchin powered rig, Mike Greens old chair has made its way back to Auckland and Brenton has one and one under construction so things are moving along.
Check in here or with me before the May AMCC round and I'll tell you if we are going to bring the tricycle and what day if only one of the two given that we are both racing at least one two wheeled class apiece.
