Competent to the edge of boredom. Parts and accessories are expensive

They're bloody nice. Like a cross between an XJ900 and a VFR800, but better if you get my drift.
Are you looking at an ST or an RS? The RS is a bit "daggy" compared to the ST, but only having a half fairing means less crash damage in the event of the unthinkable.
The new one has a 1050cc engine and has styling to die for. The rear end is a bit fussy, but I still like it.

Very comfy riding position coupled with sporty handling and a flat torque curve.
Here's some RS prices. The 2002 one is a bloody good price.

If I'd been sensible I should have been buying one of these instead of the R6, but I'm a mid-life crisis kinda bloke so it had to be a sports bike :)

I have a review on buying a used Sprint, they rank them as a damn good bike. No big problems. Engines should be loud but not rattly. Little bit of vibration is normal. There are 4 recalls that effect the sprint, stickers for the recalls will be under the seat ? Recalls are related to fuel line connector, fuel gauge sender,
rear wheel brg, and clutch cable. (this is a Aussie mag but should apply here)
The RS is lighter due to its spartan design. But the mag basically claims they Are good. They compare well with the VFR 800.
The ussual story with regular servicing, plus every 20,000 km major service due.
If you want to borrow the mag, no problem.

>>Farewelling the Co-pilot to see her folks meant an opportunity to swap ST’s. The ST Honda was replaced with bikescape’s Sprint ST.
She asked me ‘How was the Sprint?’ when we got back home.
I said ‘I want one’
She said ‘you say that every time you ride one’
‘yeah…I know’
The ST is a great bike, plenty fast and the fuel injected triple is a gem, an all round sweet ride, comfy, good brakes, tips in, looks sharp and had enough carrying capacity to live out of for a few days.

A couple of mates have had these , one was an earlier version , it leaked oil and had it's radiator replaced under warranty, that one was sold at around the 10,000 km mark , The other was a sightly newer version which the owner had no problems with in 70,000 km , ended on trading it on a Daytona which has also done a ton of km's with no issue. From a pillion point of veiw the ST isn't as good as an XJ , you tend to sit higher on the ST , I've been on both when one of my bikes expired a few years ago.

I presume you mean the ST. I am on my third in three years and have travelled about 40,000 ks of trouble-free riding. My first was a 99, second an 01 and in April I bought the new 05 model. There was no question of what I was going to buy when I decided to upgrade. In my opinion ya can't beat 'em. Of course the 05 is the best of them all, but still I went for a blast on my 01 last week and was very surprised that I still enjoyed the ride even after doing 6,000 kays on my new one.... I might add, that this is for sale.... $13,000. 22,000 kms. Brittish Racing Green.
Go for it matey.

What makes ya say that? --serious I dont know a lot about these bikes Nice bikes Frosty [don't let Big Dave know I said this]. A good step from the trusty XJ900. Down side is the chain maintenance I guess. Sound like tractors at idle, so I guess they could be refered to as agricultural :devil2: There's an outfit down south importing spares from the land of the rising sun I beleive. Take one for a blat, they're very easy to ride. Oh and it's a non-japper so you'll get a big hug from the bad bikey scum and other bikers with an anti jap chip on their shoulders.
