This time for the cop.
Why did it take 5 days for this to become public?
http://www.bayofplentytimes.co.nz/news/a-crash-between-an-unmarked-police-car-and-a-milk-/1341975/
Apparently the cop had been driving like a cock all day & had nearly cleaned up the same tanker 3 minutes earlier pulling out from the side of the road in front of it.
I see no mention of a U turn in the article, but that was what happened.

Probably not the best thing to say but at least it wasn't a biker, if it had, they would've been sore or killed and for what? To give someone a fine?

There wasn't anything I could see in the article about the crash causing a death.

they were too busy writing up the results

Cop vs Bike = Cop
Cop vs Car = Tie
Cop vs Truck = Truck
right next we have Cop vs Train any volunteers?

No, sadly.
I have been aware of this since the truck was taken to a repairer on Monday, the truth is quite interesting, I hope the official version of events is equally as interesting.

Lethal is an adjective meaning capable of causing death.

Lethal is an adjective meaning capable of causing death.

It depends where you look it up. It predominately means "able to cause or causing death".

Taking the post at face value: Another lethal u turn this time a cop, I took it to be a cop car had u turned causing a death, namely the cops.

I guess the tanker must have been speeding........ oh the tanker must have pulled out and acceleted quickly........ oh, the tanker must have been driving in a dangerous manner............ oh it can't possible be the dunkin donuts cops fault.

Pulling out in front of a 40 tonne tanker, what a bugger. Did the cop survive?

Maybe the tanker driver wasn't wearing his high vis vest? A milk tanker by itself really just blends into the background!

Must admit I looked at interest in the OP's thread title, only to discover that there were no fatalities involved, thank goodness.
As usual, the kb kangaroo court will be in full swing, "facts" (which are notoriously either ignored, not presented fully or otherwise mispresented) will no doubt come out given sufficient time.

Thats the one charge the driver with careless causing because he was hiding in the cab.

Able to, capable of not too sure but to me that means pretty much the same thing. As in if your able to cause then you must be capable to......

Yep, the thread title and the media article are totally different alright.

Hardly surprising since the media are only regurgitating what the Police have said.

Well then maybe you should try and change your "usual KB thing" and stop getting so emotional because you don't agree with something someone wrote on the interwebby. Only you have the power to change.

I will pray for you.

Just keeping an eye on the sandpit.

As for point number three, your arse is probably so close to the ground that even a shorty like me would struggle to bend down that far. (Not that I'm even considering it for one moment :eek5:)

It makes sense. Trucks & cop cars are about all that's on the Kaimais most of the time. Between them they make that piece of road fairly miserable for everybody else these days. Most accidents there seem to involve trucks lately.

sidecar bob
13th April 2012, 17:51
Tonights paper confirms the U turn, it also states that the vehicles sustained minor damage. I know the truck was assesed at around 15k of damage & the car is bent in the middle.
Aparrently "it will still be a couple of weeks before a decision is made as to who is at fault"
Well it aint fuckin rocket science, a truckie was minding his own business & a cop did a U turn in front of him.
But I guess in two weeks everyone will have forgotten about it & the results will fly under the radar.
A bit different to the couple of poor blokes that cleaned themselves up in a Falcon around these parts a week or two back.
The same Police & newspaper as dealt with this story had allegations of the possible motoring misdemeanours that led to their untimely demise before their car was properly cold.

Hey the police need sufficient time to find a way to pass the blame, find a scapegoat, or at the very least write it off as "police procedure" :innocent:

People do dumb shit on the road all the time. Including doing dumb U-turns. Just cause it's a cop doing it "FUCKING COPS BURN THEM ALL AT THE STAKE, SEAL KILLING COVER UP ARTIST NAZIS WAAAAAH".

Isn't this exactly the same kind of discrimination that most people on this site protest about ? ie acc levies. The exact same mentality ? "I haven't had a crash and needed acc, so why should I be paying extra". It's the same as 99.99% of cops that haven't caused a crash via a U-turn.

Why should the whole police force be publicly burned, when it is only a handful of cops causing these incidents ?

But hey, fuck logic and reason. It's for gheys.

Give it enough time and the truck driver will be found at fault...how dare he involve himself in Police business anyway!!??

Nah, all jokes aside, been trucking for 25 years and have had very few negative encounters with Police in general. It's just one of those things that happen, from time to time. Get over it.

As for the spelling and grammar crap, c'mon...:Oi::Playnice:
