Hia ll.. Looking for some help. I want to get some blue clutch and brakes levers for the 1125r and been looking on Ebay but am not sure about the chinese/Hong Kong ones you see there. Has anyone used them? Are they any good? How do they compare to NZ bought (if indeed they are any different?)

I know Pazzo and Titax are almost $300 a set..are they that much better?

I dont want the "what if they break when you use them" stuff..I am looking to hear from people who actually have or used them on their bike. I am also not interested in the "support NZ" argument as my views have been covered on this before.

Just looking for some actual facts (hard to find on this site I know) as to whether I buy off Ebay or more expensive ones here?

Any thoughts?

I got a cheapo chinese set from ebay on the bird about 6 months ago - landed for about $42 i think - work fine for me, no trouble whatsoever. I figured for $40, even if they crap out it was only $40!

a bit like these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Clutch-Brake-Levers-Honda-CBR1100XX-Blackbird-1997-2007-/270773331602?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f0b592692&vxp=mtr

I purchased a set of levers from a trading company in east tamiki,
next to a set of gpones they are the same right down to the tooling CNC path marks

The only thing I did replace for peace of mind was the capscrews with decent S/S ones..
finish and fitment suprising good, well anodised.

honestly if you managed to break them by excessive force either your superman
or the hunk or the viagra is working where it should'nt..

Andys english might not be the best, however he's a physical store and was
great as I measured up a number of parts for a project bike and he was more
than helpful..

I bought some double adjustable ones for my R1 over a year ago. they have the adjustment by the perch to set for your hand size, and they can be adjusted for length, so the lever can be a shorty, a full length, or anything in between - custom set it to your tastes.

Cost me about $50 including postage - maybe a bit less.

I ride my bike LOTS, trackdays, rallies, commutes, touring - the levers have been brilliant, anodizing was available in a range of colours, and hasnt faded or anything at all.

from my experience, Id buy them again if I changed bikes, and save the $250 difference towards other mods/petrol/one legged prostitues (dont knock it till youve tried it)

I have had ebay levers on 2 out of my 3 bikes, I would much rather pay $50 for a set of CNC anodized brand-less levers than $300+ for something that is going to do the exact same job.

I have herd stories of them fading in the sun and what not, but it would cost piss all to get them re-anodised if need be..

I have Titax levers, long ones. I love 'em and am glad I bought 'em at a time when I had a disposable income. Call me shallow but I don't like the idea of cheap Chinese stuff on my bike.

I had the same dilemma as you. I ended up buying CRG from ebay (second set, first set on another bike I had). My thought process was "Sure, those cheap ass ones are PROBABLY going to be OK, and they are PROBABLY functionally equivalent to the expensive ones. But with my luck I will get the one with the QC problem, or the one that snaps or the one where the adjuster mechanism shits itself, and basically I am not prepared to take that risk with my front brake" Spend the extra hundy, the peace of mind is worth it.

I'm a fan of CRG too; had them on a couple of bikes. Have only got their mirrors on the Triumph.

Kyle Racing and Hard Racing seem to have frequent "specials" on levers, full choice of colours and cheaper than from CRG direct. But not NZ$50.00 either. Haven't dealt with Hard Racing but Dan Kyle is good to deal with.

If I had a Chinese bike I might put Chinese levers on it but...

Can you get levers like this for cable clutches? Not looked at them before, my GPZ could do with some gold ones.

The Buell has a cable clutch and the cable slots nicely into the new lever without any issues.
