View Full Version : Tall Tales from Today on Hwy22

Her voluptuous curves, her smooth lines. How the sun shimmers through the trees and reflects on her golden fields…

By the way Farmer Brown, could you please not drop those mud dags all over the road, they’re really slippery when it’s wet…

The peaceful vista, the quiet murmur of the brook, the gentle hills receding into the distance…

Excuse me, Mr Transit, it would be really nice if you could let me know about those gravel bits before I get to them, please…

The flitter of birds in the trees, the quiet conversation of cows, the gobble of turkeys preparing for my Christmas dinner…

Umm, Farmer Brown, that cow that was barrelling down the middle of the road at me this morning, could you possibly keep her tied up until I’ve gone past…

Umm, no officer, I’m covered in mud not because I’ve been off-roading on my VTR, I’ve been riding Hwy22…

What the ................ :oi-grr:

Next you'll be lining the road with teddy bears or something...... :nono:

We prefer a dangerous road, with fierce decreasing radius corners, random obstacles ready to torture those who dare lose concentration, blind corners, wet slippery shaded areas, massive pits caused by washouts, taunting corner speed signs…:headbang:.………………….. not the bloody bubbling brook and the cute little sparrows and that other girlie stuff……:weird:

I'm glad you got through it in one piece. Now you can tell everyone that you have conquered SH22, and in the wet and over all those obstacles too! :Punk:

You'll soon be passing my mileage record if you keep that up! :msn-wink:

I do appreciate the scenery, I've ridden there a few times in such horrible rain that I had no choice but to slow down and appreciate the REALLY beautiful scenery.....

But chasing apexes is a much a higher priority for me.....

I'm now nearly 9 kilos lighter since I've not being going to the gym this year (need to get my shit sorted).....

Yes big fella finesse is more important...... working on it, working on it.....as soon as I find a job I'll be able to fund my $150 a weekend petrol addiction....

PS: What's the bit bout borrowing someone's lighter??

Yeah, well it's kind of a visceral thing ya know.

Exactly.

It's not in my visceral nature to admire the scenery, maybe sometimes, not habitually. Since I was born and brought up in places world famous for their natural scenic attributes, I find following vanishing points more attractive.

And that's the real reason I ride......

It’s the right hander after the 2nd stretch of gravel heading to Raglan that ALWAYS gets me!
Down hill decreasing radius blind corner with a madman on a KTM Duke 1/2 way up my ass does little for me!
not nice picking on little bikes, mutter mutter sulk
Nice pub tho, good coffee!
