Dumb question, best way to clean your fairings?

I usually if im doing an overall clean will use degreaser on the frame, motor, swing arm and rims and hose it all off,
Then its just a matter of using a bucket and some wash and wax liquid and a good clean sponge and just scrub the bitch till it shines.

Dont use dish washing liquid
Dont use a hard brush, soft brush should be fine though

I also use a can or two of silicone spray and do a couple of coats od silicon over the entire bike, excluding the seats, tyres and grips and controls as well as foot pegs and brake levers.

As for THE best way, I have no idea haha

I'm lazy so i tend to mix 50/50 degreaser or truck wash and CRC in a compressor wash down spray can, Spray every god damn thing so its near frothing, leave it for 5 min and hose it off WELL !

Then i hook the air gun to the comp and blow away access water so ya dont get that wet look of drops all over it !

Wash your bike?? Just go for a ride in the rain.

Rinse and blast at any built up dirt
Wet shammy cloth and wipe with bike wet, may need to re-rinse as you go
Wait till bike starts drying out
Wipe off all water with a dry shammy cloth
Spray with turtlewax bug and tar remover
Hose bug and tar remover off
Wait till bikes starts drying out
Wipe off water with a dry shammy cloth

Go buy some S100.

1. Hose off the bike
2. Spray the entire bike
3. Use a rag to wipe down the metal bits (frame, engine, wheels etc.)
4. Maybe a sponge on the fairings if there's some stubborn dirt
5. Hose off the bike again

Degreaser! That would explain the state of some of the bearings and chains I've seen over the years.

Those and pressure washers should be kept away from a fully assembled and functional motorcycle.

That's how I do it to, cept for the drinking bourbon bit

15mins top, no elbow work.

For screens, drape an old towel over it soaked in warm soapy water - Leave for an hour or 3 - softens the bugs

Similar to how i wash my cars.
Bucket of car wash suds, Meguiars or otherwise (something quality ideally!) Not too cold either, warm helps to remove the bugs!
I don't use a brush or a sponge as the can scratch/haze the paint surface.
I have good results with a microfibre cloth to apply the carwash/water mix, keep rinsing it in the bucket to avoid picking up crud and scratching paint.
Hose off till clean
Use a real chamois to dry, and don't let the bike get too dry and keep rubbing otherwise this will scratch it too!
Wax/Polish - I use a Non abrasive pure carnauba wax to protect and shine. Abrasive cleaning waxes should be used sparingly otherwise you'll remove more paint than you want over time.
I use CRC or WD40 on my back wheel to remove the flicked on chain gunge, then follow up with the wax as above.
It works for me, and I've always got good money back on vehicles as I like to keep them mint!

When the mood takes me I'm inclined to use an old house brush And kero for the spooge on the block, pipes, anything really that contains spooge, around the shock etc. Leave for a bit wallah!

I use 50% kero and 50%any degreeser seems to work quite well and an old paint brush to slap it around ahh mind you.. i have no fairings :D
