I'm looking to tap the kiwi biker infinite pool of wisdom here. What year and model is this bike? The owner says it's a 185. It looks mid 70's.
Does it qualify as a Vintage MX?
Any other information would be useful.
Cheers.

I could be wrong (again), but it looks like a Suzuki TS185. Although the frame/seat/tank does look very Kawasaki ish.

That would probably explain the Suzuki badge on the motor  I vote TS185 as well

Maybe the forks are ER185, as is the front guard for sure....but yeah...doesn't look like a Suzuki frame.

Forks and frame look like they are TS185 to me. The tank looks to be from the 77 model and differs to earlier models262401

The green paint was probably an attempt at gaining extra horsepower seeing as everyone knows Kawasakis are faster than Suzukis.

Looks a lot different to my 1973 TS185.

Measure the bore and length of stroke ... and do the sums. It will give you cc rating.

No need. It'll say it on the side of the cyl more than likely.

Yes and I am sure it will say it is a pile.

All the japs trial style bikes had that chromed heat guard from the 70's which doesnt help a lot... But the big K made 175cc not the 185. Maybe a Suzuk frame with kwaka tank?

I'll have a bet each way and say a Suzuki 185 motor in a Kawasaki frame. the mounting of the engine looks a bit too dodgy to be a factory effort (the view from the left side just looks wrong around the baootom of the engine)

Exactly what I thought. I also don't recognize the rear frame loop, or the angle of the frame at the rear of the engine as being Suzuki.

Looks like a TS185 engine ... the chassis though is suspect. It will (should) have a chassis number stamped on the steering head for an accurate identification. Just Google that number ... and all (hopefully) will be revealed
