Hi all,
i recently blew up the motor of my 00 cr250r, and am deciding on fixing it up, selling it as a roller, or parting it out. I would like the $$ to fund a track bike
To fix the motor it needs cylinder barrel, conrod and crank set, so a few $$ in parts.
How much would it be worth as a roller? It is a sweet bike and everything on it works well and has been maintained, work done in last two years includes, swing arm and linkage bearings, fork seals and oil, front n rear wheel bearings, front caliper seals, brand new alloy radiators (two rides old and they have not had an off) plastics are in ok condition, not broken, just scuffed, clutch cable, heavy duty clutch

chain and sprockets are stuffed. wheels are good, tyres are average

would i be better off parting it out on trade-me, or selling as a roller? I am looking for a motor, or a good barrel and crank set, as i would most like to sell it as a going bike.

Thanks
J

as it is, to me probably around $600. if you find someone with a bent frame you might net some more.
I doubt youd get more than a grand for it at absolute best - but just my opnion

Sounds like an excellent donor for an electric conversion

Reckon Tim is about right with the $600-1k mark.

hard one being that old, but if everything else is is not bad condition i think about a grand for it would be fair,

1st couple a responses are close to give you an idea paid 950 for a 2007 that needed new crank and piston everything else on it was mint. Bought quite a few in that sorta condition over last couple a years getting a grand for it would be top dollar given what it'll cost to repair. you might get better money parting it out but it will take a while and odds are youll spend it as you get it and never really see the total amount.
