After parting with his Burgman almost a year ago we have a brand spanking new one sitting downstairs in the garage next to El Bandito.
Rode into Coleman's to pick it up on Saturday and he couldn't keep the grin off his face. Long story short, while discussing future holiday options we agreed that overseas trips could wait till we're older - we have rekindled the desire to do bike touring around New Zealand (on two bikes, since two up was never really a consideration for us).
So, we are going to start planning a few trips away again using 2-wheeled transportation!

p.s. Balu is not a blow-my-own-trumpet kinda guy, so I'm doing it for him. Now I just have to get pix of the new beast off him to post.

Yeah, he found he missed the old one so much that he was lured back. Riding my bandit just didn't do it for him!! :shit:

Cool, well done that Guy!

Please describe the typical Burgman Owner for me - Born again Biker? Older Rider returning? New Rider who doesn't worry about stereotyping?

Um, he only took up riding (from n00b) about 5 years ago - one year after me. Started off on my trusty ginny although had to get an exemption to ride my 650 bandit as he was a bit too large for the GN; then once out of his licence restrictions went for the burgman. His first one was a lovely blue 650 but we sold it about a year ago, as much as anything due to the enormous rego fees for 2 bikes in the "expensive cc" category. However he missed it terribly and has given in to getting another. He was very tempted by a few of the BMW tourers, but in the end it is simply that the burger suits his personality and riding style completely. (He ain't called Balu for nothing...)
I nicknamed his old one 'the flying armchair', and this one will probably get the same moniker. He's a pootler and loves the underseat storage that the burgman provides. And I also have to say he's been given a fair amount of ribbing from non-scoot riders, but he takes it all in good humour and accepts that his ideal ride isn't what everyone else goes for.

He knows that most of the teasing he gets from others is not meant maliciously, and quite frankly if it was it wouldn't bother him either! While they're not exactly my thing, I did ride his other one a few times and they actually handle quite nicely.
