So I took off a Michellin PR2 190.55.17 off the back of the 10

Put on a Conti raceattack 190.55.17

The michellin was fine. Run them loads.

The conti is too big! It scrapes on the hugger.

Anyone had this before? Not all 190.55 are created equal?

Yeh, well sorta...I had a 190/60 Dunlop on My '05. I just spaced the hugger up at the front and slotted the other 2 holes. Problem solved...
It's normal for tyres to vary from brand to brand, I've had 200's that were smaller than 190's before..I did a bunch of measurements back in the day of a few different one's...it made interesting reading. I haven't got the info anymore tho...

Normal.

Over the years I have measured the widths of tyres - differs between brands, some are a true 180, some 175, some 185. Circumferences differ slightly too as the makers play with tyre profiles.

You will most likely be able to make up some spacers to have the hugger sit higher. You should check clerance at the front of the swingarm too. Tyres had a tendency to 'grow' slightly when in opperation so if any clerance is very tight it may rub at speed.

Do a burnout at a funeral at Upper Hutt. That should sort it.
