or when did the good old USA metricate?

"US authorities say a 25-year-old New York man has been arrested after troopers clocked him driving his motorcycle at 273 kilometres per hour.

State police say a trooper first observed the motorcyclist going 267kmh afternoon in the southbound lanes of Interstate 87 just south of Albany. The trooper pursued the biker and was able to get the Suzuki motorcycle's license plate number and a description of the rider when he slowed down in traffic.

But the man sped off again, and other troopers clocked him going as fast as 273kmh. Troopers eventually stopped him in New Paltz.

Police charged Nikkolaus McCarthy of Charlton with fleeing police, reckless driving, speeding and operating a motorcycle without a license.

He was being held in jail on US$20,000 bail (NZ$25,000)"

Whats wrong:

1. No women were in the story
2. Was in USA... would have been way cooler in some obscure place
3. The story wasn't made into a hollywood block buster.

If you were making a movie, it would probably be a porn flick with bad acting and cheesy lines

But I'd still watch it :corn:

I have my theories!

be a porn flick

My life has been a porn flick at times, but instead of bad acting all the lines were just ad-libbed.

you might be able to get to 240/250 if you twist your wrist.

try do it somewhere with lots of wire fencing on either side of the road..

I've had the speedo up to 250 once (on a "race track"). It seems to die off usually once the speedo gets to 240, it's sort of like hitting an equilibrium where power = wind resistance.

lol sure sure, don't think the straight at ruapuna is long enough for ur bike to get to 250 ;)

and yea it is a matter of not enough hp and too much aero drag once u hit that speed. ur gonna need more balls. or change the gearing a bit if its still got some rpms in it

I've gone -1 on the front sprocket, and determined with a GPS that the speedo over reads by 10%, so 250 on the speedo is really only 225 IRL.
It will do an indicated 230 on the back straight of Ruapuna though.

I went from a 250cc straight to a 600cc and did over 200 on the second day of owning it (on a race track, of course ). Having an extra 50kg of weight and a longer wheelbase your bike should be a lot more stable on the open road than mine. Do it, you know you want to!

If you think you can get away with it then just don't stop. We should go for a ride some time when I get the gixxer back on the roads. If you want then I can show you how it's done on your Hayabusa, I'll even top it out for you and give you the proof if you can get hold of a Gopro. What I lack in skill I can more than make up for with stupidity.

Ruapuna is epic fun. After a day on the track I became a much more confident and safer rider. It's money well spent so do it ASAP if you get the chance.
