found a rear tyre i want to buy will it fit?

ive found i can get a 160 18 inch tyre....2nd hand cheap from a wreker...but the problem is my rim is a 4.00 and im unsure if it would be ok because the books he had had varying opinions as most said it has to be a 4.5 rim to fit a 160 ...

anybody know if it will fit?

ive seen another tzr it had a 140 rear...but he wants to much for that ones tyre

160 seems a tad wide for a 250. Standard size is 140, and you could stuff up the handling going too wide on the rear.

NB: extra rubber takes power

160 probably wouldn't fit. It'd fowl all sorts of things, probably the swing arm for one.. Try to find out what the stock size is (search the net, it's full of data) and stick with that, else the bike will handle funny too..

The Metzeler listing shows a 17" rim. With a 130/80-17 tyre.

just managed to convince the wrecker to sell me a tyre he ddnt really want to sell off a tzr he wanted to race hes just gunna buy another one now got a front and rear 2nd hand for 100 bucks :devil2:
