i'm at my sons place trying to re set the little grandson's PC. It runs XP. but some time ago, the desktop display went to Portrait display, I cant find a way of resetting it to Landscape display. I tried to restore it to an earlier setting, but no luck. In the Control window, there doesn't seem to be any option to select Landscape or Portrait layout.

Any help would be appreciatted.

yea like Madness' screen shot

my pc has an option deep down somewhere - where I can select portrait or landscape.

guess it depends on ur graphics drivers where this option is located. mine is within the ATI program for my gfx card. not in the actual windows settings

yep, its either right click on the desktop as per the screenshot, or there will be a graphics properties icon on your desktop (if tis abudget intel card or something) which will also have the setting. If it is an ATi or NVidia card, there will be a proprietary bit of software (ati catalyst control centre or the nvidia equiv) - that will also have it in.

Madness, I couldn't find my way to your menu's to graphics. Tried the search for graphics but came up short.

Steve-T, your idea worked the second time I tried.

Thanks to all, the little fella is got his "Braintastic" games to play now.
