Well, It's time for me to replace my back tyre for the first time.
I've just ticked over 8500km on my SV1000S.
I'm curious as to what other riders have gotten from this tyre?
I spoke to a chap 2 weeks ago who only got 4000km out of his. I'm an easy going rider on the road though, he may not be.

Great tyres got a set on me gixxer, had 4k out of them so far [likewise easyrider] prolly get 5.5-6k, also got around the 8k mark out of me first set

Its very interesting to see some people only getting 4000km. I must be a wuss!!! Yep, I think I'll be "sticking" with them......

I have had 6500 km from the rear and about and about 14500 km from the front. I changed to a Metzler Z6 on the rear and got 10000 from that. I tried a Z6 on the front but on my bike (R1100S) it was very noisy so I took it off again (nice helpful blokes at Cycletreads, I have lots of good things to say about them). I have never felt either tyre let me down in any way so I recomend them both . My S came with Pilot Sports from the factory so I have tended to stick with them and like I say I never felt they failed me

funny.. i just posted this in another forum!!

i had them on my ZXR and i was getting about 4500km on the rear and about 7000km on the front. good mile muncher but no good on the track or in a fast road application (= rear slide/ stear).

were you running the race compound or the raoad compund John??
What tyre pressures were ya running??
Were the slides predictable or did they come on with a snap??
concidering pilot power race as replacements for the dunlops Im running now on Mella Yella.

i assume they were a road compound.
ran roughly 36 psi rear and 38 psi in the front (cold), never really got into them in a race application cause they were not all that inspiring.
my main gripe with them was that they slow to heat up and give very limited grip about mid-corner when you start to power out. however they were pretty dam good in the wet (when riding in a wet weather manner of course!). when they would start to slide you knew it was coming, i never felt too dodgy but i always had a thought in the back of my mind not too push to hard and load up the suspension.

Sport rear 2300km best on a TLS, how people get 8000km out of a rear is beyond me.
Good tyre though, the pilot powers are the bizzo on the road, but that didn't last long on the gixxer either.

There is three different tyres...

-Pilot Sport: Equilivant to Diablos Sportech etc

-Pilot Power: Equilivant to Supercorsa Street. A really sticky tyre, not quite a race tyre,but almost only heard that they are awesome in the wet...

-Pilot Race: Equivilent to Racetech's, Renners and Supercorsa Pro's...
