Hey folks. i know its not a bike thing but i thought, id ask and see if i can get some pointers.....Im after some help with me 95 nissan mistral . i cant buy a proper workshop manual ( haynes) as they dont exist so ive been trawling forums to try and find answers( yes the cheap kind so can fix it myself) the indicators started working intermittently a couple of weeks ago, sometimes not coming on sometimes on but not flashing. now when i use the indicator they come on but stay on constantly on the dash and the actual lights. the same happens with the hazzards.

anyone got any ideas?

thanks

and to make things even better, i borrowed a hydraulic log splitter last wekend and had to tow it home. and it blew all the rear driving lights and the light on the dash for the speedo etc.

all the fusebox markings are in japanese. could it be a flasher relay needing replaced? if so, anyone know where the hell it is on these cars?

Process of illimination with the fuse box, just pull them out 1 by 1 until you find the right 1. Could be a flasher unit gone, or a relay. the flasher unit is probably up under the dash or the footwell side panel.

This is the electrical manual for a terrano, which are very similar.http://bebrs.pie-dabas.net/Webs/Terrano/R20/el.pdf

The most common reason indicators dont flash is a blown bulb, but you seem to be having the problem on both sides, and its likely you would have noticed a blown bulb while checking to see what was happening.

The fact that all lights illuminate shows wiring and fuse OK, if this is what you are actually seeing.

So replace the flasher unit as first step.

yurp. flasher relay by the sounds, find the thing by your feet that's supposed to tick when the 'cators are on, it should have two silver cylinders, these should unplug/ pull out.
get on to repco if you want new ones, or pick-a-part if you're one of those people.
