Partners race, as not everyone competing is a married couple (Mel/Brian, Kamil/Willow, Julie/Gav).
If possible, dates/venues would be good before the first weekend, so I can get my a into g and do the poster (got some good pix from GrantNZ).

No, we're not allowed to use the track other than on our weekends :( There's a thread here somewhere about why.

Another option, not sure whether Edgecumbe is closer, is to hire the Taumarunui track for a weekend. Roller blades optional.

Only talk I've heard is about the fact we'd need a $200 license instead of our $100 and it puts quite a lot of us off.
Umm you should still be in honeymoon stage, so enough of slagging off the mrs, thank you ;) Sheesh, you have a lot to learn lol.
does this mean you're coming to some of our North Island meets then? Manfeild must be a given.

1. Yea the $200 isn't ideal but..... If we actually start getting some MNZ support to grow things more and provide the same level of support as other classes (lol unlikely) then it might be worth it in the long term (not holding breath).
2. The honeymoon stage run out 10 years ago... but I've still not learnt my lessons :brick:; I'm quite slow as you know.
3. hell yea I'm trying, bike is just about ready to go again. Nov (conference) is out but the rest is looking good currently; just have to sort out the other GPR boys.
(and and I've found a supply of "white port" to add to the mix )

Oooh er missus. I heard that because it was a "club" championship and not an MNZ championship the club licence was all goods. Tell me I'm not deluded. I've just booked a stay at my mates for the two hour.

The MNZ newsletter thingy that turned up the other day listed the GP as one of the NZ championship events that requires the full license, the NI series that Steve runs is a PAC club series so the cheap license works.

What about my handicap Oi? I'm a bit distracted by my water claim and should be cut some slack. I've got skinny wheels and a big puku. You could've said your bitch of a wife will only let you or Craig ride Max.
I'm not sure which bike I'll be riding that weekend, and Craig will possibly only get a day pass, (dunno, Henk hasn't told me) but I know we'll sort it out.
Yay, another team for the partners race. Must be about 8 teams now, possibly 10, too high for me to count anyway.
Henk
20th September 2012, 22:19
I was working on the theory that Str8 would do the 40 lapper on my bike, Craig and Malc do the two hour on his and we make up the partners race as we go along.
I guess this is a good time for me to ask you guys what races you plan on entering so we can organise things accordingly.
Craig will probably (90%) only do Sunday but we have enough bikes to go round no matter how it pans out. If you guys want to do the two hour together I can get him another partner and we can do the partners race on either Michelle's 100 or 150.
The only thing we are likely to run out of is sidecars, if the endurance race happens on Saturday. But I suspect that if we can get enough crews we could run heats and share rigs if enough people put their hands up.

But hey, I do intend to at least give the racing a go to see if it works! I am really keen on giving swinging on the chair a go too but that will have to wait until the tail bone is fixed. I don't want to break it again in a hurry - it's been long over a year and still giving me grief.
Also I may need sessions on my own as to not disturb the rest of the riders with too many red flags.....

So the first round came and went and all I could do was watch. Have to say it was mighty entertaining from the sidelines as the usual North Island series dramas unfolded - Richban failing to qualify due to throwing a chain, Rick blowing a head gasket and then the second bike refusing to play ball, Tim highsiding the beast, Dave crashing out of third and so it went on. Crazy agressive but clean racing, was great to see the out of towners weren't afraid to stick it up the inside through the sweeper! At the end of the day Nathaniel reigned supreme, with Gavin finishing all races in the top three. Seriously good racing :niceone:
