Hey guys,
Im am noob to the forum and a noob to motorcycling. Im sick of driving cages and have realised that they are expensive to fix and slow. I bought a Hyosung 250GT NEW two weeks ago and am enjoying it immensly. How can you buy a new vehicle for $6000???!!!
I think I would be keen to go for a ride sometime but having an L plate and running in a new bike in at the same time is a bit crippling on the open road. I have done 700km so far but am starting to find the Wgtn roads a bit dull. The Makara-Karori road, Onlsow Rd in Khandahla, and Korokoro are great though :).
Anyway, thats enough. Look forward to meeting some of you guys some day.

Yeah - good to have another Wgtn rider along! I reckon another good close-to-town ride is around Shelly Bay, and even all the way to Ohiro Bay but the first bit's best. Means you don't need to go huge speeds and you still have nice corners and it's pretttty. Done that ride yet?

Hey all, yeah I have done the Shelley bay ride. Started in Pukerua Bay, via Wainui Coast rd, and ended up getting to top of Wind-turbine hill before going home to Ngaio. Long day :).
We almost need a Wellington forum section.
Going to get some sleep now before my commute in the morn.

Welcome :wavey:. We're not strange - it's everyone else who's got problems. We're all just one happy, well adjusted family.

Yeah I like it :). Took me a while to decide to buy something other than Japanese so I hope I made the right decision. I saw one of the 650R's the other day (Hyosungs fully faired 650 sports bike) it looked absolutely fantastic. Im guessing its in direct competition with the Zuki SV650 but sells new for $10000. Looked sensational. Now if only I could fit that fairing onto my bike...

6000?!?!?!? Isn't that a bit steep for a Hyosung? Are they any good?
Wilkommen to the site anyway :niceone:

Congratulations on your new buy and welcome to the site. Heaps of rides always headed over the takas. Just keep your eye out on here and you'll be a frequent Wairarapa rider in no time.

Welcome aboard the site.
The Hyosang seem good value for money - will be interested to see how the stand up over the longer term. Was just looking at their new 650 sportbike - looks like an imitation Ducati - and why not? the big Jap manufacturers imitate British and American bikes all the time.

Thanks everyone for the welcome.
I went for my first Taka ride yesterday. I went with a VERY large group (40 bikes?) and it turned out to be a hopeless exercise. Despite promises of people waiting on corners for us slowies I rode all the way to Woodville (with a tailend-charlie) and nobody was there. Heard from the cafe owner that someone rang up and said they all went back to Carterton. Fairly poor I think. Had I known I was going to ride in a straight line for 300km I wouldnt have bothered!
Anyway...enough ranting. I think Ill come on one of your Taka trips next time maybe?
