I thought about the same thing, but didn't know if the viewing angle was going to work enough...so before commenting to get one...I actually made one using the square plastic mount that ship's and holds the go pro in the retail box. the mount has enough surface area to be stable, and drill some holes, used some left over black webbing to make the harness...it worked really well, that I'm not buying one now
just a low tech, kiwi option :-)

I have a few of these mounts, would like to try this option as well. I have tried the head strap mount whilst tramping and this works a treat too. Of course, can't be done on the bike :)

Sounds good, I have a POV HD camera, it has the shoulder harness which works great until I put my armour gear and my camelbak on then it doesn't know where to sit so I thought I would try the Go pro harness.
Would be interested in a picture of yours, I might do the same.

here ya go...
nothing too high tech here, and hopefully you can see what you need. I'm still on crutches...so getting into the man cave and hunting through my stuff, etc was good to get in there. Pleased that I actually found it...nice to touch my 690...will be months before we play again :(
