Hey guys,

Does anyone know if the ignition switch from a ZXR 250A will work on a ZXR 250C ?

Gotta replace mine and is damn hard to find them.

Also, how do you remove the ignition switch from the top plate of the handle bars, there are these really odd bolts or maybe they are rivets. Not sure how to get the old one off...

Pretty sure any old switch will work, only a couple of wires come from there.

Probably security bolts, you may have to drill them out. And they will be pretty hard steel. Good luck.:headbang:

Or allen keys. If they have rust then use the rounded allen keys to get into them.

they will be some kind of security bolts.

any key-type, (or even flick) switch will work. (with or without relays, depending how your bike is wired)

to remove, either drill into the end with a drill about the same size as thread and use stud-extractors or melt the end of an arc rod onto the (bolt) head, fold it and use it as a lever to unwind it...

Thanks for the replies guys. I had a feeling they were some kind of security bolt.

I found the exact ignition switch I need on ebay.com.au brand new (old stock) but it is 180 AUD, found an ignition switch at a NZ wreckers that looks much like mine but is from a ZXR250A so that was why I was asking, don't want to get it and then find it doesn't work...

The other thought I had to get the security bolts off was to cut a straight cut in the head so I can then use a flat head screwdriver however they are recessed so it would be hard to get a dremel or something in there...
