I see a lot of threads about how people are treated at the local bike shops in Wellington, some good, many bad.

I thought I would talk about the great customer service I recieved at HSC American Motorcycles in Pukerua Bay. I called in there because they had a good deal going on HJC helmets, whilst I was there I was talking about an issue I was having with the brake discs on my bike (which was currently at another bike shop) Not only did the parts guy try and find me the absolute best price to replace them but the head mechanic (and owner I think) took the time to explain everything, why there was an issue, what to look for etc. I ride but am not a mechanic but not once did these guys make me feel like an idiot for asking questions.

End result is I bought two helmets and will now use these guys as my bike shop of choice.

Thanks guys.

Maybe I'm in the minority in that I ride a bike by choice, instead of that deluded notion that biking is cheaper than a car...
I still work on the idea that if I want something for my biking needs, I go to my shop of choice and get it.

I've dealt with Wellington M/C for a few years, bought a bike and gear off them, servicing, on going bits and pieces, never an issue. Or I should say that when there has been an issue it's always been sorted quickly. Some of the faces have changed over the years, but they keep looking after me, so I keep going back.

Have also called on Maidstone M/C for tyres and a few bits n bobs, Big Mac has always been helpful.

My reckoning is that the 'I got bad service' cry is more of a beat-up than reality.
