Who else goes out to deliberately ride in the rain for shit's n giggles and to test the sphincter?
The KLE is so much fun in the twisties, wet or fine, so off I went for a ride thru Pukeiti encountering a few good showers in my "older" riding gear of the mid 90's. The lining in the crotch is non existant so 5 minutes in front of the fire when I got home & all is now snug & warm again.

I lead a learner ride in the rain during the week. I reckon its a very important thing to do.
On my old 250 it was a laugh, on me 1200 its a bit more interesting.....

Have been known to do exactly that. Last big ride out I did, in fact probably the last time I gave you shit in person the forecast was pretty much bang on. Torrential rain for Sunday. I knew this, but, did I care, or even think about it?
Lets just say, following a loaded cattle truck over Mt Messenger in torrential rain, at speeds where you could actually see the shit pouring out  is something that will stay with me for a while. Getting soaked to the skin about an hour into a trip that was going to take the best part of the day, less than an hour into it made for some smallish giggles. Making a decision to NOT take off one of your gloves 1 hour from home, at the servo, because you knew you would never get the fuckers back on again made for a belly laugh, and all shades of funny in between is all part of being a biker for this gal.
I once rode to work on a real shitty day, just because I could. Mind you, I did not factor in a fatal accident that meant a 2 hour delay in getting to work, sitting in gear in torrential rain and many kms of very, very slow riding, but I laughed out loud several times on the trip.
My work mates and some non-riding friends think I am mad

You are mad. Why not filter and get to work on time?

Good question. The motorway was closed. We got diverted onto a one lane rural road. I overtook and infact, going against all my common sense and good riding craft even undertook cars when the gradient of the road was too large to allow me to stop. How long have you been riding?
You are mad.
Apologies for the double quote :sunny:
I am infact mad, crazy and a little bit odd to boot :weird:
At least I am not as mad as you, and dont have my full name and cell phone number available to anyone that choses to view my profile  You might want to change that

Fair enough then. 9 years riding bikes, 3 years road riding.
Apologies for the double quote :sunny:

Sorry for the double quote in one
I don't care if people know my name lol not trying to hide, I treat anything like fb or this forum like as if I was talking to people in person. I don't want a false persona. Question I want to ask is why you stalked me ae? :nya:
Btw I didn't mean to sound as though I was insulting you or anything?

My riding is bad enough on a dry road. Deadly in the wet.

I used to ride in all sorts of weather, partially because the bike was my only form of transport and partially because I got a sort of perverted pleasure from surviving whatever mother nature threw at me. Not any more though, I spent too long with a dribbling crutch and frostbite in my extremities for it to be fun any more.
I'll always have fond memories of the icy cold wetness seeping into my no no area though, certainly keeps you awake

I only have a bike for transport... so whats the big farkin deal about riding the rain??

As with GrayWolf, I use a bike for everything, riding at least 6 days in every week... so I don't see much need to go out to get wet, it'll happen soon enough. Riding in the rain with good gear is reasonably enjoyable, as you're warm, dry and ... riding!
Other option is riding a bike that isn't your normal one. That's fun too as it's different.

Got rained on on wed.
Rode past downed power wires, trees, street signs.
Was a little freaky and fcukin cold.
Once did a 3hr x-country race on the XR in the rain without problems or getting soaked. Then got the wets on over my race gear and rode home on the DR.
I saw the solid block of rain coming and stopped.
15secs and I was wet through.

Same. i also rode a pushbike to work pretty much every day for 15 years until i got completely over it. In fact thats why i am no longer a cyclist, pretty much. Now i am all about the quality rather than the quantity, and i have no interest in being uncomfortable for the sake of it, or to punch some mythical "real biker" card

I am not uncomfortable for the sake of it, or to punch the 'mythical real biker' card? I ride a bike, I have for 37yrs.... if that makes me a 'mythical real biker'?
You poor bastards :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Like GW, Gremlin & HDC I use two wheels for everything. Feeling a bit guilty about not using the push bike much currently though. Unlike Nadroj I don't ride in the rain for fun, the novelty wore off long ago .
I got soaked last weekend and have got wet during the past week, but just maybe if I had a new toy?

I'm from the NE of England & it used to be dry roads that made me feel uneasy:laugh:
I can also say that rain soaked bollocks are preferable to sweat soaked ones when riding.

I enjoy riding in the rain although it's not so great once visibility drops too much. I hate the inevitable cold trickle that drips down your spine (always manages to get in somehow) and soaking gloves that you know are just never gonna be able to be put back on once they've been removed.
Other than that, I enjoy riding in the rain. Did I say that before?
It's that "I gotta pee" feeling I hate....
It's the wondering if I am peeing feeling, apparently 1 in 3 women suffer lbl.

This place IS like peeing yourself in your riding gear, It gives you a warm feeling but no-one notices.
