maybe great fun, but why would you want to run those heaps of shit in a full on race class, with bucket racing speeds approaching 160kph they would just be a hazard to everyone else. plus they don't comply with the current regs and with those motors never will

Woah with the hate. If there were 5 guys show up with them, why not let them run a couple laps in their own class.
I see the bucket spirit is waning with you Yow.

At most (if not all) meetings there wouldn't be time for a start

You're way off the mark with that comment

So if 20 of them turned up at Hampton downs you would like them to run in a class of their own as well. why not run tricycles with motors as well?
Why would any responsible club allow those illegal junk piles on the track ?

No probs if there are time issues. I just thought a couple laps at a cart track wouldn't hurt. Of course they wouldn't be scheduled on a full race track, or at an actual race meeting (except as lunchtime entertainment).

And if we are talking 'legal', how many buckets are allowed on the road? Or did you mean ineligible.
I'm all for a three wheel bucket class! Oh, hang on they are called chairs.
I do see what you mean though, maybe better suited for supermarket carpark racing. Except that's illegal.
They would probably fit right in at Mt Welly, seems you can race anything there with the buckets :devil2: And shouldnt this thread have been started in the Bucket forum maybe?

theyre reminiscent of the old board track racers from, what was it, 1900-1920's era or so?

Pretty much what people used to say about buckets back in the day.....
FFS -I'm having a laugh and to be fair if it has wheels someone WELL race them sooner or later. Anyway, cyclemotors were once a very large chunk of the market. All it will take is a deeper depression and 200mpg will mean they become relevant again.
