Hi all,
i am using a flatdeck ute at the mo to haul my ktm and my partners 400ex sports quad, but it doesnt work too well as my work vehicle (self employed painter/decorator).
I am wanting to get a van for work, and to haul the two bikes. Has anyone seen a quad and a dirtbike in a hi-ace before? I dont think it can be done, but my mate recons that it will fit . I am thinking i may have to get a ford transit to fit both in, but its a bit of a pain to drive such a big van everyday.
input....
thanks

A friend of mine managed to fit a CR125, a CR80 and a Yami 450 Race quad into a long wheel base hiace. Its a bit of a mess but it will work. I personally will only be putting one bike in my van from now on since i just got it painted inside and out and no longer want to do damage by squezing extra bikes in.
I think the back wheel of the dirt bike ends up resting on a quad wheel or on the vans rear gaurd.

Cool, thanks for that info,
ill put a LWB HiAce on the possable list. When i look at one, the test drive will involve a trip home and loading both off road bikes in
Thanks

I've owned both a 90s shape hiace and the new one.
The old shape I could (without fucking anything) fit 1 full size bike with 1 row of back seats or 2 bikes with no rear seat. Some people reckon they can fit 3 somehow ?
In the newer model I could get 2 bikes and a row of seats or 3 bikes and no back seat.
This is my experience from my standard lwb vans

I remember how he manged to fit the quad and bike in now. Bike goes in first gets tied down, then drag rear wheel onto rear guard. push quad in and the front wheel of the quad ends up under the sump of the 2 wheeler.

Two fit 3 bikes in you have to either mount a stand at the rear or pull the front wheel up against the rear door so you end up with 2 bikes forward 1 bike backward.

Haha had to laugh when i saw this post.
Did exactly that today. YFZ450 quad and my 300 in the back of swb hiace. Very very tight squeeze but it worked!
Cost two speakers though! Foot pegs straight through em!
But would not want to be doing this everytime i go for a ride.

Cool, thanks for the info.
Looked into the vw trasporter, but i just cant justify spending 25k plus at the mo, im only in my second year of bussiness. looked in the mercedies vito, but found scocking reliability reviews online from many unsatisfied vito owners, cant afford a new shape hiace either.
Looks like ill get a older shape (2000ish) lwb hiace and try to fit both bikes in, but if its too much hassle ill just get a bike trailer as well, at least that way i can take a couple more bikes for mates aswell.
Thanks
J
