Anyone done group travel through Europe and can recommend a company to go with? I reckon that I might head to Scandinavia next year and while I could travel by myself, when time is limited I would rather someone else do the organising of places to visit and stay etc. Not into churches and museums in any big way, more interested in seeing how the local people live.

While on the topic, am happy to receive ideas about things that shouldn't be missed on such a trip

Cheers

Joan

I can highly recommend Global Touring based in the UK having done a few tours with them. Not sure if they'll have a tour to suit you but just check out their website.

Many moons ago I travelled the US with Contiki and when I went to Europe I wanted to travel with them again because I liked the "party all the time" atmosphere. I was however nearly 40 and Contiki specialise in 18-35s so didn't want my $6500. They suggested Trafalgar but I looked at the Brochure and saw a picture of a distinguished looking Driver/guide assisting his elderly passengers off the Coach.

I wasn't interested in that so went with Top Deck who look after 18-30splus. I did 7 weeks around Europe and one month of Egypt, Jordan and Israel. Had an absolute blast even though I was 2nd oldest on the trip and some of the younger ones could have been our kids and occasionally needed a bit of looking after.

Eu rope can get monotonous with all the castles but highlights were many including the Louvre, the drinking, Sistine Chapel, the partying, Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, the alcohol, 3 days sailing on the Mediterranean, the booze, Athens, and good company.

Depends upon what you are after.

Speak to your travel agent and detail what you are looking for, ie parties, hotels or campgrounds, your budget, length of holiday, etc and read lots of brochures.
