The last time I had my wheels balanced.. actually the time before last the wheel weights fell off. I had newly powder-coated my rims which probably didn't help adhesion. On returning it to the shop the owner knowing how fastidious I was generously offered to replace them with black ones. It was a short wait (no pun intended) but black weights on black rims on a black 'blade I felt I couldn't go wrong.. and I wasn't disappointed. Now thinking of balancing my own wheels.. does anyone know where I can buy the stick-on weights in black? Thanks in anticipation.

Sorry can't help with black weights, but I have black bike with black rims and painted my weights with a bit of black paint to blend in - looks mint :niceone:

Cheap can of spray paint and regular weights if you cant find any black ones could be an option.

Thanks gentlemen. I am just this minute getting ready to etch prime and spray the stainless steel cap bolts I will be fitting my number plate with. (I always replace plates when I get a new vehicle.. for $9 it is a cheap upgrade and removes some of the connection to the previous owner). I then drill through the numbers themselves so you can't see the fixture points.
Having said that it never even occurred to me to paint the wheel weights. Always the key to getting what you really want is having a "banker" (as Eddie Irvine calls any qualifying lap time which you can fall back on). At least now I can stop worrying about it with this option in mind. Thank you for pointing out the obvious.
Funny thing how the grey lead on black just looks so nondescript and drab I can't even think why the manufacturers don't powder-coat everything :-)
