Can't find anything remotely recent after searching here on this subject, but as the heading asks..... anyone know of any organised tours leaving NZ for Phillip Island MotoGP in October? So far I have found one commercial operator Boys-Trip.co.nz, whose prices take a bit to swallow. I remember various dealers or bike clubs have run tours in the past but I'm not aware of any this year..... can anyone else enlighten me...?

Although they dont organise tours from NZ. polepositiontravel.com have packages to all motogp and sbk races. I used them for the Catalunya gp last year.

Go on line and book it yourself. I've done it twice and it was as easy as pie. You can even book the coach from Melbourne to the track. It leaves the central city from an easy to find location. Don't waste money on a stand ticket like I did the first time I went. I ended up sitting there for about 10 minutes. You can walk around the entire track and taking up different viewing points. Take the right gear for rain and sun.

Oh yes!

And a small FM radio of some sort with earphones that will let you listen to the commentary/interviews. The ones available at the track only cost peanuts but probably nine out of ten don't work...

Thanks for all the advice guys. We have a couple of tickets coming and we're keen to go..... But if we make our own way there, I'm pretty sure that we'll have trouble getting motel/ hotel accommodation close to the track. Not too keen to commute one and a half hours to and from Melbourne each day. That's why I guess a tour operator will have the inside running. I'll make some enquiries to some of the suggested contacts mentioned here. And I agree it'll be a big event this year...... Stoner's last ride.

You will have a ball! The noise from the MotoGP bikes is something else! I mean what I say about being prepared for sun and rain. I had both between the two trips. There is bugger all shade and if you're like me, in that it takes 0.18 seconds to burn then take a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen. Trust me. Those Aussies strip off right down to their beer guts and lounge around in the sun all flipin day!

Mate just bought a new Yamaha Vmax and got 2 3 day passes to Phillip Island, airfares & accomodation included.

I've offered to look after his bike while he's away.

Yeah - from what I recall of Michael's reports the KR group stays in a house on the Island.
