Hi all, i have a NSR250 1987, still on the learners. about 3 years now. Who would you recommend. Just looking for fire/theft. But would like to get paid if it gets nicked. Any input would be great.

This is the most asked question on this web site. It has been asked and answered hundreds of times before. I kid you not. The answers rarely change.

This site has a search function. It's the white box with the magnifying glass icon next to it in the top righthand corner. It's even got "advanced search" written underneath it as a clue. Please use it. You will be amazed at what you find.

After you've found all you need on insurance, then do a search about "waving" before you feel compelled to post a thread asking a question about that as well.

Some members on here will give you the old do a search winge, the time taken to type their winge would be better used typing in usefull information to help you, but thats just the type of person they are.The best thing you can do is call the major insurers who insure bikes, and ask them to sent out an information pack which will include a book with all the fine print.Read this book carefully before you decide to insure with whoever you choose.And just a note that kiwi bike is just a broker, so if you go through them, ask to be sent out the book with all the fine print from whatever insurer they will use, before you decide to go with them.Most people tend to go for the cheapest quote without reading the fine print,I cannot stress enough to READ AND UNDERSTAND THE FINE PRINT BEFORE GOING WITH AN INSURER!.Insurers make it very easy to take out a policy over the phone,you have been warned.So there you go, it only took me a few minutes to type this, and I didnt shoot you down for not doing a "search"

I insure with NAC, I have a 89 GPX250 insured for $4000.00, premiums are $10 p/w full cover! I've had one claim for an at fault collision and they were great. My 2c.

Kawasaki 650R insured for 10k with AMI for $11.50 pwk. Great to deal with as well. Had a few claims with cars/contents with them and always a breeze.

I doubt if you'll get insurance cover from any company cheap. Three years on learners ... you'll be too big a risk ... :nya:
