And what is their parts backup like for these other models?

Im not sure if they still distribute Cagiva bikes.
I've had the misfortune of experiencing their after sales service on a Cagiva and it was rubbish. 9 months to source some handle bars after a crash, and 3 months to replace the front break rotors when they warped.
Never again will I buy a bike from Triumph after experiencing that crap.

Hitcher will probably be along shortly (he's had a lovely time with Aprilia) but it depends on exactly what you mean.
Triumph NZ is just that... but the family behind that also runs other companies, including Salero Holdings I think, so altogether they are responsible for more brands, including (but not limited to) Piaggio, MV, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi along with Triumph.
As for backup... ah, well, in their report card they would receive a "Must Try Harder" I think. I avoid the brands above purely because of other people's experiences with getting support. Unfortunate, but there are other brands

So what about their level of service on the Piaggio Scooters and the Keeway Budget bikes and the New Megelli 250s- who knows about them?

I know a dealer who bought back a customer's Piaggio quad? because they were unable to give any timeframe (days, weeks, months) on ETA for some parts.

Go for their throats Mr Weta. I bet your service is way better than theirs. Take the agencies!

My view of triumph NZ is at best, never again and at worst, rip off kunts.
When I brought a couple of cheap chineese trail bikes I knew there was no dealer service available, I knew what I was gettting into. When I brought a new triumph I considered I was buying a premium quality bike, all I got was ripped off when I ordred and paid for parts that never arived.

They also distribute Aprilia and Moto Guzzi.
Their parts back-up is piss poor and they don't give a stuff about that. If you're buying a new Aprilia or Guzzi, I strongly recommend that you negotiate a discount with the supplying dealer that exempts you from any claims you may make under the factory warranty. $1,500 should suffice for that formality. The reason I suggest this is because the factory warranty for both of these marques, as represented by Triumph New Zealand Ltd, is worthless. If the bike fails completely, then the Consumer Guarantees Act offers all of the warranty you need.
For more minor matters, fear not. AF1 Racing, the largest Aprilia dealer in the USA (located near Austin Texas) offers outstanding parts service. You should expect to have your parts delivered in about 5 working days. Pricing is extremely reasonable and the attention to detail and customer satisfaction is exemplary.
Jesus wept. I'm trying really hard to move on from having to deal with these venal, vindictive pricks. They're responsible for some great brands. I loved my Shiver. They do have some loyal dealers and satisfied customers, so perhaps my sub-optimal experience may have been a one-off as they sought to wreak their revenge on other parties with whom they may have had unresolved issues at the time. Sadly that had nothing to do with me except that I became embroiled in it. An apology would have counted for a lot at the time. But that level of empathy is not something that self-righteous arrogant pricks generally have much of.

Try NTB motorcycles in Hamilton if you are after Aprilia parts.

As far as the KeeWay brand they bring in
I bought the supershadow 250, which is a copy of the XVS250 Yamaha Virago.
Just cosmetic differences.
For service parts, etc, I just go to the Yamaha dealer and order parts for an XVS 250.
they all fit,
I had the bike serviced by the local Triumph dealer on its first service, but will be doing services myself from now on.
6000k,,in 4 mths, with no problems, only thing that has broken is the horn mount, phift.
Bikes has done 3 rallys including the brass, which was a 1000k round trip $67. fuel cost,
Sat around 110kph most of the time, a comfortable easy ride.
But as far as geting any part for it specifically, from the dealer, wont even try, doubt if they could supply.

At best.
"Absent from class" would be more appropriate. They really are pathetic. Mr Hitcher's solution seems much better.

That's why we tossed the franchise in.

I love my Triumph: I'm on my second. and the local dealer (who are excellent) are caught in the middle. I'd like a grab rail for the ST-R: but not for $350 thanks very much.

Can I get you started on Triumph UK?? :)
I don't know if it's TNZ or TUK cause the little experience I had with them it was as everyone has said...um...what's a nice way to put this...fucking shitballs. I ordered some parts for my first Trumpy, tail light and stand bobbins. Took ages to get the light from TNZ and fucken stupid to get the bobbins from TUK cause they didn't have any in stock. I'm talking 2 months! I don't know if it was NZ not communicating with UK or if they only do orders once every 6 months.
To be fair, I know a parts manager for another industry and they have shit systems as well. But they have to order their parts only twice a year. It is big bloody parts though and they fill containers but they have to manage their stock very carefully. They charge the client for special orders.
It wouldn't surprise me if TNZ worked like this judging by the huge delays. They'll take the customers orders and dosh and just throw it on the next shipment. This wouldn't be as bad if they told you first. More than likely though they're just shit.
For my current bike I used aftermarket stuff. If I need original stuff I'd only get it if they had it in the country.

There is your first mistake right there.

TNZ have no say or power, from my experience anyway. They play the middle man, and they do a fucking shithouse job at best.

I had nothing but a positive experience with Triumph, even through multiple warranty claims. All part received with an acceptable timeframe and no issues experienced. Holeshot were also fantastic to deal with for any issues I had.

That to me, that would seem like a contradiction.

Shit happens. The way it was managed meant I will buy another Triumph and I will most certainly buy from Holeshot again.
For reference, only one of those claims involved the bike actually not working (stator went pop at about 50,000km).

I missed a that!
And that's all good then. As Allan Martin always said...
