Amusing suggestion from a friend worked well, 4pm Kilbirnie test, lots of traffic, everyone going slowly so no chance of going over the speed limit. Tester just advised more head checks (to anyone taking the test soon, you must have to make these really obvious because I thought I was overdoing it). I can now get rid of that 6L / 6R license I've had for 21 years.

Now the real fun begins! Time to upgrade the bike! :woohoo:

Nice work!
I am sitting mine next Tuesday. What exactly do you have to do these days? I've looked at the AA, LTNZ and the brand new motorcycle road code and they say next to NOTHING about the full. Just prattle on about changes to the restricted test

Yeah... did you even READ that? First site is in relation to a Class 1. Second is the same one I've looked at for the class 6 and says sweet fuck all about the test other than the hazard detection bullshit.

What else am I expected to do?

What else am I expected to do?

Take a look in the forum pages ... it's got a LOT of threads on what is now required.

As a last resort ... the search button is top right on each page.

Don't they issue dog sled licenses instead?

It was just the old restricted test all over again. Ride around, don't crash or speed, do regular head checks, do a U-turn without putting your foot down, win! No hazard discussion at the end or anything, so really straightforward tbh. Good Luck!

Cheers mate, nice to get a response that doesn't involve "use the search button and search the hundred or so pages that contain "full licence test" :brick:

I sat mine yesterday in Browns Bay/Albany. Was exactly as you said. I did a couple of U turns and had to ride on the motorway between 2 offramps. Basically exactly what the restricted test was.

All that rain yesterday did make things slightly interesting dodging all the small lakes forming on the roads and around stormwater drains though.

Lol, did mine and didnt even have to do a U-Turn, or go on any motorway. Just had to deal with mini rush hour traffic without losing the follower. Was so easy, I assume I managed to skip the difficult test and just did 2 of the old restricted style tests.
