Parked my bike in a car park in Riccerton (Bush Inn) today, went and had a nice lunch. On returning to where my bike was parked, I find that there is now a car parked there and my bike is now parked on the sidewalk, Bastards. They had dropped it in the process (superficail damage and yes the steering was locked) and the people that where, just leaving car they had just parked (where my bike was) denied all knowledge, Bullshit, they had the cheek to say I shouldnt have parked there as it was a car park , I still havent figured out logic in that, Took a photo of the reg plate of the car, made it very obvious that I was doing that in fact walked round the car taking photos of both font and rear number plates, if only I had a wittness to the fact.
Im thinking of wiring up a power invertor to ward off any people who wish to move my bike.
Bogan got any ideas on how to do this

Should have told them that it's a registered vehicle and that you'll park in parks allocated to registered vehicles whenever you like. Then tell them just how much it costs to register your bike for their information.

Same thing happened to me once, left an angry note on windshield of said car and basically did nothing after that (apart from grinding teeth, seething etc).
Also pulled into an empty space in Cornwall Park recently (with no parking lines on the road) and was promptly accused by a passing motorist of taking up two spaces with my rather skinny bike. Try and figure that one out...I couldn't. Wasn't even on a busy weekend, it was on a Monday night at around 5.30pm (with the park closing at 6pm).

Stomp on the roof, no question. I'm not big on people who fuck with other people's property, but turnabout is fair play. Post up the pics.

you don't need an inverter. AC voltage isn't that lethal unless you go really high current which will drain your batt like a mofo. a DC-DC step up transformer to the tune of ~10 thou volts should do it. or get a portable fence energiser (RD1 type shop), rip some capacitors out of fluro lights, tape them on, and bolt that shizzle on.

Do not listen to this rubbish. Akzle it takes less than an amp to KILL you. Transformers work on electromagnetic induction, a function of AC current. Stick to giving advice on something you know about. Someone could get themselves hurt.

i think he meant use it once to remove a valve stem, then again to put it back in? personally i'd take at least two valve stems with me if i was going to do this. that way they can't pump up tyres without replacing em. side cutters will achieve same end result but the damage is a lot more obvious.

perhaps you're retarded.
at what voltage, and for how long, and AC or DC, does one amp kill you??
i'm picking about 100kv DC, for a couple of seconds. but please. enlighten us.

maximum amps out of a battery is ~1-400, @12v. enough to give you a zap if you short it, unlikely to kill. difficult to rig. thus i say high voltage, such as taser styles: 10kv. realistically the easiest is to do the 'lectric frence thing.

I think you are thinking of a DC to DC converter, which is not a transformer.
I don't have the energy to argue with you around the basics of electrical theory, I paid quite a lot for my NZCE in electrical engineering so I'm not training you for free. But tell you what Mr Wizard, hold the conductors of a standard 240V AC source and set your stop watch, see how long it takes to hurt.....

id does "convert", but it does it through inverting then rectifying, yeah? or is my basic electrical theory off?
i've grounded 240v, as a child of ~10. lasted more than a few seconds before i kicked it off.
wouldn't want to do it again, but not fatal.
unfortunately didn't have the ammeter on me to check the current but it didn't blow the fuse so not massively more than 10.

No one messes with my bike like this. I'm sure you'd normally park somewhere where you can see your bike. Now that I've spent thousands doing my old girl up, I never just park her and leave. Where ever I park I can see my bike and God help the fool who allows his kids to climb all over my bike or who thinks they can just move it cause they want to be where I am.That is instant and total war.
Try for CCTV Footage, it's worth a crack, prove some barstard did it and you have a case, this has to stop. We pay more ? for fucking what?

Under dry conditions, the resistance offered by the human body can be as high as 100,000 Ohms.
The impedance of human skin generally limits current to milliamps. At standard domestic AC voltages, you will definitely notice 1mA, while 60mA will likely stop your heart. For DC voltages, those figures are generally considered to be between two and five times higher.
It is generally accepted that current above 200mA being transmitted through the human body will be fatal.
I can assure you that you have NOT survived 10+ Amps @ 240V - for one thing, your skin would not transmit such current (unless you were using an anal probe), and secondly you would be cooked internally (and quite dead) - but smelling delicious.

If you were to proceed and damage/touch the ''supposed'' offenders vehicle (without absolute proof it was indeed them) that would put you in the same catagory of how you view thier human status.
Gotta ask yourself..''is it worth having a criminal conviction for damage to property''?
Solid evidence is what you need and let the police deal with it....

Where are the bike parks at the mall? I've never seen any and usually park out the front opposite the pub.
I always park in car parks as a last resort, especially in Christchurch where the driving standard is absolutely appalling. I'm always nervous that a car will rush into a park thinking it is empty and knock it over.
You need to be approaching the Police on this, damaging someones property as such is criminal. Well done on keeping your cool. I always leave my bike in gear and most usually in sight. To touch it without my permission.....
In Hamilton at the Westfield mall they have bike parks, I emerged one day to see a people mover parked in the bike park, nearly blocking my bike from getting out. I say nearly as I managed to get the bike past with only a bit of scratching up the van, wankers.

Reminds me of the old saying "It's the volts that jolts, but the mills that kills."
5 milliamps will hurt, 60 milliamps will stop the heart and be fatal if CPR is not applied. 100 - 200 milliamps will generally be fatal even if CPR is applied, and more than that is "how well done do you like your steak?"
Human Skin Resistance can be as low as 20K and up to 60K ohms depending on how moist or dry the skin is, how good the contact is, and how well you are earthed. So 100V may be enough to do damage, or it could be as high as 300V. Try it for yourself if you wish, but just sign your life insurance over to me first.

Definitely check for CCTV footage; while it would be the easiest option to assume that the vehicle parked in the space your bike was belongs to the pricks who moved it that may, in fact, not be the case.
I'd be pretty upset if I found my car damaged by someone who falsely accused me of shifting their bike out of the space if I wasn't guilty. How long were you away from the park? Might it be possible that whoever did the shifting of your bike had already left and another motorist took the vacated spot unaware of the history of the parking space? Slim, I know, but nevertheless "possible"?
